RICHTER PARK AUTHORITY MEETING MINUTES Richter Park Authority Office Tuesday, March 21, 2023, 6:00 PM In compliance with Connecticut General Statute § 1-225, these minutes are being provided for informational purposes and are subject to approval of the Richter Park Authority Board of Directors at its next regular meeting. Chairman Pete Siecienski opened the meeting at 6:03 PM. Members present: John Priola, Al Mead, George Radachowsky, Leroy Diggs, Bob Eberhard, Judy Griemsmann, Pam St. Pierre, Paul DiNardo and Art Haddad Also present: Jonathan Pinto, Head Golf Professional, Rob Dorsch, Golf Course Superintendent, Karen Madaus, Business Manager and Bobby Bria, Musicals at Richter. Absent: Dave Lajoie (Mr. Haddad will take his place at this meeting) Public participation None. Approve minutes of previous meetings Mr. Mead made a motion to approve the minutes from the February RPA meeting. Mr. Diggs seconded. Motion passed. Correspondence none. Arts Association The RAA Met today and Mr. Siecienski attended and gave an update on the Richter House. The Annual Spring Art Show will open 5/20 and go through 6/4/23. The Performance season will start on Sunday, 4/23 with a rock concert. Musicals at Richter The 2023 season will be The Addams Family and The Music Man. MPC-Richter House None. FORe Met via Zoom last week. Discussed restructuring; needs a President, a Secretary and to increase membership. The balance of the account is $8,000 currently. Business Manager’s Report Mr. Radachowsky would like updates on outings including number of participants anticipated and actual. Head Golf Professional Today is opening day! We had 115 rounds today. We have been merchandising over the last two weeks and there has been a great response to the renovated Pro Shop, as well as the rock walls on #8 and #12. We will be starting a monthly newsletter in April. The annual audit is happening currently and Glenn has stated that bartering is good for us to use. Grounds and Greens Mr. DiNardo, Mr. Dorsch and Mr. Pinto attended a seminar in Westchester County. The Grounds and Greens Committee/Superintendent relationship is good and need to meet often to walk the course. Today is opening day and the course is very clean. Until soil temperatures rise, we aren’t growing. Tomorrow we will be sodding #8 and some seed. The transformer on the pump station is blown and on order with Eversource. Financial report We are two months in and there has been a lot of activity with Capital projects. We are still in a good cash position. Mr. Mead made a motion to accept the report and place it on file for audit. Mr. Eberhard seconded. Motion passed unanimously. Finance Committee Report No report. Old business Mr. Siecienski spoke with Mr. Kleinhans at the City for a Richter House update. He is also working on getting money that was part of the American Rescue Fund which helped businesses that stayed open during COVID. Mr. Bria stated that Jim Blansfield wants a 300 amp service installed to power musicals. New business There are potential upcoming vacancies on the RPA, along with a couple of interested parties. Updates will come as we learn more. Chairman’s Comments/Report The RPA is held to a higher standard on the golf course; we represent Richter Park when we play. Executive Session None.
