RICHTER PARK AUTHORITY MEETING MINUTES Richter Park Authority Office Tuesday, May 16, 2023, 6:00 PM In compliance with Connecticut General Statute § 1-225, these minutes are being provided for informational purposes and are subject to approval of the Richter Park Authority Board of Directors at its next regular meeting. Chairman Pete Siecienski opened the meeting at 6:01 PM. Members present: John Priola, Al Mead, George Radachowsky, Leroy Diggs, Bob Eberhard, Judy Griemsmann and Art Haddad Also present: Jonathan Pinto, Head Golf Professional, Rob Dorsch, Golf Course Superintendent and Bobby Bria, Musicals at Richter. Absent: Dave Lajoie, Paul DiNardo, Karen Madaus and Pam St. Pierre. Mr. Haddad will be a full member for this meeting. Public participation None. Approve minutes of previous meetings Mr. Mead made a motion to approve the minutes from the April RPA meeting. Mr. Eberhard seconded. Motion passed. Mr. Mead made a motion to approve the minutes from the May Master Plan Committee meeting. Ms. Griemsmann seconded. Mr. Diggs, Mr. Eberhard and Mr. Priola abstained. Motion passed. Correspondence none. Mr. Mead made a motion to move up the audit on the agenda. Mr. Priola seconded. Motion passed unanimously. Glenn Nanavaty, Auditor: The audit is complete and drafts were handed out. Things went well with the audit and there were no problems getting the information that was needed. Revenues and expenses have been holding steady. Arts Association The Arts Association is in the midst of spring performances and they have gone well so far. One performance had over 400 attendees. Musicals at Richter Auditions were a couple of weeks ago and rehearsals have started. Mr. Blansfield is installing 16 metal posts for the backdrop walls. MPC-Richter House Some ideas came up during the May meeting. Hiking trail benches and trail signage are a priority. FORe The annual meeting will be on May 22, 2023 at the Richter House for elections. Business Manager’s Report None. Head Golf Professional Rounds are good and we are up over 700 rounds from last year. Mr. Priola made a motion to raise the Carriage House rent to $1400/month on the new lease starting in July. Mr. Eberhard seconded. Motion passed unanimously. Grounds and Greens The pump station issues are continuing, currently valves are an issue. It is tough to get contractors. Plantings will happen next week. Financial report The cash balance and cash flow show that we should be in a good place. Every number this April is better than last April. Mr. Mead made a motion to accept the report and place it on file for audit. Mr. Eberhard seconded. Motion passed unanimously. Finance Committee Report The negotiated three year contract with Eversource ends in December 2023. Negotiations will happen soon after June. Old business Mr. Siecienski and Mr. Dorsch met with Jennings about replacing the broken boiler at the Richter House but they couldn’t make it work. New business There will be a bid proposal on hiking trail signs before the next meeting. A letter of resignation from John Priola effective June 1, 2023 was submitted. Chairman’s Comments/Report None. Executive Session None. Mr. Mead made a motion to adjourn at 7:35 pm. Mr. Priola seconded. Motion passed unanimously.
