RICHTER PARK AUTHORITY MEETING MINUTES
Richter Park Authority Office
Tuesday, June 18, 2024
In compliance with Connecticut General Statute § 1-225, these minutes are being provided for informational
purposes and are subject to approval of the Richter Park Authority Board of Directors at its next regular
meeting.
Chairman Pete Siecienski opened the meeting at 6:05 PM.
Members present: Jay Eriquez, George Radachowsky, Al Mead, Leroy Diggs, Bob
Eberhard, Dave Lajoie and Pam St. Pierre.
Also present: Jonathan Pinto, Head Golf Professional, Rob Dorsch, Golf Course
Superintendent and Karen Madaus, Business Manager.
Absent: Paul DiNardo (substitute is Pam St. Pierre) and Art Haddad.
Public participation
None
Approve minutes of previous meetings
Mr. Mead made a motion to approve the minutes of the May 2024 RPA
meeting. Mr. Eberhard seconded. Ms. Griemsmann and Mr. Lajoie abstained.
Motion passed.
Correspondence
none.
Arts Association
There will be an open house on Sunday, June 23rd with musical performances.
Musicals at Richter
Thank you for the Richter House and grounds update. The 40th Annual
celebration will be Friday, June 21st from 6-9pm with performances.
There are 17 kids who have registered for the Theater Workshop. Beauty and the
Beast opens in two weeks. $4,300 has been raised in the 40/40/40 campaign so far.
On July 29th, the Connecticut Ballet will be performing at the Richter House.
MPC-Richter House
none.
FORe
The 34th Annual Danbury Amateur is coming up July 20th and 21st. The sign
project for the trails is moving forward. We are also working on the Felix Bonacci
Memorial Wall.
Business Manager’s Report
There have been a lot of outings in June and the Danbury Amateur registration
is open.
Head Golf Professional/Director of Operations
We hit the roadmap in May with 5460 rounds, which is down a little from last
year. We had a Business Insurance meeting with Jim Arconti and it is recommended
that we move forward with the proposal. Mr. Mead made a motion to accept the
Business Insurance proposal. Mr. Lajoie seconded. Motion passed unanimously.
We are also looking at golf cart lease options, including electric vs. gas and
GPS. All of their prices have gone up. We will revisit this topic at the July RPA
meeting.
Grounds and Greens
We have been dry and conditions are good currently. There are water coolers
on 6 and 15.
Financial report
Revenue is down slightly but so are expenses. AP is current. Mr. Mead made a
motion to accept the financial report and have it placed on file. Mr. Eberhard
seconded. Motion passed unanimously.
Finance Committee Report
Discussed budget overages with Mr. Pinto and Mr. Dorsch. Minimum wage has
been increasing over the last few years. The RPA would like a head’s up on
overages.
Old business
Cell tower: Mr. Siecienski put together a sub-committee: Jay Eriquez (Chair),
Bob Eberhard and Leroy Diggs.
ARPA projects: we are waiting on the sub-recipient agreement. There will be a
Zoom meeting tomorrow to discuss.
The Richter House ribbon cutting ceremony yesterday went well.
Arts and Musicals need to meet with the Facilities Committee to discuss
parameters of using the Richter House.
New business
none.
Chairman’s Comments/Report
We recently received a summons regarding an injury on the Golf Course in
2022. City legal and our insurance company have been contacted.
Executive Session
None.
Mr. Mead made a motion to adjourn at 7:30 pm. Mr. Eberhard seconded. Motion
passed unanimously.
