RICHTER PARK AUTHORITY MEETING MINUTES Richter Park Authority Office Tuesday, November 19, 2024 In compliance with Connecticut General Statute § 1-225, these minutes are being provided for informational purposes and are subject to approval of the Richter Park Authority Board of Directors at its next regular meeting. Chairman Pete Siecienski opened the meeting at 6:02 PM. Members present: George Radachowsky, Al Mead, Leroy Diggs, Bob Eberhard, Judy Griemsmann, Paul DiNardo, Art Haddad and Pam St. Pierre. Also present: Jonathan Pinto, Head Golf Professional, Rob Dorsch, Golf Course Superintendent and Karen Madaus, Business Manager. Absent: Jay Eriquez (Pam) and Dave Lajoie (Art) Public participation none Approve minutes of previous meetings Mr. Mead made a motion to approve the minutes of the October RPA meeting. Mr. DiNardo seconded. Motion passed unanimously. Correspondence none. Arts Association Ms. Griemsmann presented some notes from the recent RAA Board meeting: 1) another set of keys for the Richter House would be helpful 2) 2) Who is responsible for paying for replacing the desk and chair in the RAA office? 3) Can the Richter House be used for events in the Winter? Mr. Dorsch: No. 4) The portable AC units will be removed next week for the winter 5) The green stump on the driveway will be ripped out 6) The last two handicap parking spaces are large, and someone parked between the signs 7) They will work on an invitation for a musical performance that RAA may put on the schedule Mr. Siecienski asked for a copy of the RAA and MAR 501C3 financials for the December RPA meeting. As an FYI, the current RAA Treasurer, Richard Teasdale, is stepping down. Musicals at Richter None. MPC-Richter House There was a recent MPC meeting. We would like another Richter House sign by the road. FORe The top of the Felix Bonacci Memorial Wall will be done by next meeting and a photo will be put on the website. FORe needs to start looking for new board members. Mr. DiNardo will ask around. Business Manager’s Report Outings are done for the season and inquiries have started coming in for 2025. Head Golf Professional/Director of Operations We made up some rounds, with 4,559 by the end of October and 41,256 paid rounds for 2024 so far. We had around 200 golfers for the annual Turkey Shoot weekend. ARPA funding is going well. The tennis courts will be finished in the spring with just painting and paving on 7 is going well. Grounds and Greens There hasn’t been much rain lately and we are 14.25” down. Topdressing has started and deep tine aerating starts next week. Financial report AP is current and at $51k. Mr. Mead made a motion to accept the financial report. Mr. Eberhard seconded. Motion passed unanimously. Finance Committee Report Mr. Pinto discussed the proposed updated rates for the 2025 budget. For budgeting purposes, 39,500 rounds are used at an average of $63/round. New GPS and staffing costs (minimum wage going up to $16.35/hour) were discussed. Old business Cell Tower: Mr. Pinto and Mr. Dorsch looked at three locations, wanting to find the easiest place to pull power and least disruptive. At least one carrier needs to commit before the Citing Council will agree. New business Staff/RPA holiday party on Saturday, 12/21 at Barberie’s. Mr. Mead made a motion to accept. Mr. Haddad seconded. Mr. Radachowsky voted nay; motion passed. Chairman’s Comments/Report Thank you all for your participation in the RPA. LOSUP funds from the City ($150k) will be used to replace the HVAC in the clubhouse. Mr. Mead made a motion to adjourn at 7:07pm. Mr. Haddad seconded. Motion passed unanimously.
