RICHTER PARK AUTHORITY MEETING MINUTES Richter Park Authority Office Tuesday, February 18, 2025 In compliance with Connecticut General Statute § 1-225, these minutes are being provided for informational purposes and are subject to approval of the Richter Park Authority Board of Directors at its next regular meeting. Chairman Pete Siecienski opened the meeting at 6:00 PM. Members present: George Radachowsky, Leroy Diggs, Bob Eberhard, Jay Eriquez, Judy Griemsmann, Al Mead, Paul DiNardo and Pam St. Pierre (Dave) Also present: Jonathan Pinto, General Manager and Karen Madaus, Business Manager. Absent: Art Haddad and Dave Lajoie Public participation none Approve minutes of previous meetings Mr. Diggs made a motion to approve the minutes of the January RPA meeting. Mr. Mead seconded. Motion passed unanimously. Correspondence none. Arts Association Meeting postponed to next week. Musicals at Richter Auditions will be in mid-April at the Ridgefield Theater Barn. MAR is looking for a Technical Director. Bobby Bria is finishing working on another grant for Phase 3, including lighting framework, for $50,000. MPC-Richter House Ms. Griemsmann spoke to Lloyd Cutsumpas and Ed Ward about Richter history. At the end of March, Mr. Pinto will record conversations between all of them and the RPA will come up with a way to acknowledge Lloyd and Ed. FORe The next meeting will be Tuesday, February 25th at 6pm in the RPA office. Business Manager’s Report The President’s Day sale is almost over and we’ve made over $100,000. Head Golf Professional/Director of Operations Discussed the hiring process for the new Superintendent. The position was posted and after the field was narrowed down and multiple rounds of interviews took place, the Hiring Committee felt that Nick Mortara was the best candidate for the job. Grounds and Greens We’ve had three snowstorms so far this winter. The maintenance building has been cleaned out and equipment has been updated/fixed to get ready for the season. Financial report Operating and Capital are at a combined $168K, which is roughly $4K less than last year. Mr. Mead made a motion to accept the financial report and put it on file. Mr. Eberhard seconded. Motion passed unanimously. Finance Committee Report none Old business Ray from Homeland spoke with Mr. Eriquez and plans to come to the RPA meeting next month. New business Approval of new Superintendent’s contract needs to happen. Conditionally, he would start March 10th with a salary of $120,000 and a two-year contract through 2026. Mr. Siecienski would like to have a “meet & greet” with the new Superintendent and the Richter Park clubs, as well as the RPA. Mr. Mead made a motion to hire Nick Mortara as the Golf Course Superintendent. Mr. Eberhard seconded. Motion passed unanimously. Chairman’s Comments/Report Thanks to Karen and Jonathan for going above and beyond this past month. The maintenance staff has already noticed changes. Another thank you to the Hiring Committee for all of the work they did in the process of finding/hiring the new Superintendent. Mr. Mead made a motion to adjourn at 6:46pm. Ms. St. Pierre seconded. Motion passed unanimously.
