TARRYWILE PARK AUTHORITY
REGULAR MEETING
April 19, 2022
CALL TO ORDER:
On April 19, 2022 at 6:30 p.m., the regular meeting of the Tarrywile Park Authority, was called to order by
Chairman M. Marcus.
ATTENDANCE:
Board Members Present: M. Marcus, J. Harner, E. Prybylski, D. Manacek, M. Repole, B. Talarico,
W. Platz & N. Wakeham
Board Members Absent: N/A
Park Staff: B. Petro Guests: N/A
AGENDA:
1. Chairman’s Report: M. Marcus said that any items will be covered under the agenda.
2. Minutes: A motion was made by M. Repole to approve the minutes of the February 15, 2022 meeting.
J. Harner seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
3. Financial Items:
A. Financial Reports – March 2022: A motion was made by W. Platz to approve the financial reports.
M. Repole seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
B. Petro also reported that the City has proposed that we receive a grant of $197,000. The City Council
will be reviewing the proposed budget in the coming month. In addition, the City has put forward two
of our CIP projects to be funded by the federal CARES Act. Those projects are the Pavilion ($250,000)
and the driveway and parking lot approvements ($400,000).
4. Old Business:
A. Fundraising: In the coming months the administrative staff will be working on a campaign in addition to
other revenue sources. In addition, we will be holding an Easter Egg hunt with Macaroni Kid this coming
weekend.
B. Park Maintenance: A part-time Caretaker has been hired and is working out well. Discussion
followed.
C. Cell Phone Tower: Chairman Marcus had previously discussed a proposal from Homeland Towers to
study Tarrywile for a possible cell phone tower location. The Mayor and Chairman Marcus recently
talked about the project and his office is in support of the project. Chairman Marcus will keep the Board
updated.
5. New Business: N/A
6. Other Business:
A. Farm Area: J. Harner & E. Prybylski shared their concerns over the farm area and the storage garage.
Discussion followed on the possible rental of space, access of the building and other items. Questions
also arose in regards to mowing the fields vs. brush hogging and storage of volunteer haying equipment.
B. Petro will look into the cost of brush hogging and report back at the next meeting.
B. Invasive Weeds: B. Petro reported that for National Trails Day, one of the projects will be to address
the vines that are on the trees. She will be reaching out to Boy Scout groups also to see if they would
like to participate.
C. Graffiti: J. Harner reported on graffiti that is being found on rock outcroppings. B. Petro will get her
paint that can be used for coverup.
D. Tarrywile Lake Dam Fence: N. Wakeham & D. Manacek asked that the staff reach out to the City to
see if they can fix the fence. N. Wakeham also reported that she has seen a green dirt bike recently that
is inside the Park. Staff will keep an eye out.
Adjournment: A motion was made by E. Prybylski to adjourn the meeting at 8:13 p.m. Seconded by N.
Wakeham. Motion passed unanimously.
