Tarrywile Park Authority September 17th, 2024 Regular Meeting Call to Order At 5:00 PM on September 17th, 2024, a regular meeting of Tarrywile Park Authority was called to order by Chairman Michael Marcus. Attendees Michael Marcus, Janet Harner, Nancy Wakeman, Ed Prybylski, Duane Perkins, Alicia Ghio, and Dave Manacek. Public Speaking – Mark Nolan from Friends of Tarrywile discussed culvert/bridge on the white trail that was damaged and needs repair. 1) Chairman’s report – Chairman introduced the newly hired Development & Communications Manager, Angelica Sargent. There will now be a joint leadership team between Loraine Marshall and Angelica Sargent, Tarrywile will no longer have an Executive Director. Loraine and Angelica will be working out the assignment of tasks and their job descriptions. This will be presented to us in the near future. FEMA application has been accepted to repair the gravel roads in the park. We are now waiting for approval of any funds that may be granted. Tractor Grant has been approved. Meadow Management and Vine Task force has been selected – Erin Daly, Janet Harner, Ed Prybylski, Duane Perkins, and Jason from Friends of Tarrywile. Expecting a report with a proposed plan within the next 2 months. Confirmed that the next officer elections will be November 2025. Milking Parlor Rehabilitation Plan Task Force has been established, consisting of Mark Nolan and Janet Harner. They are to develop an outline. 2) Minutes – minute for regular meeting on August 20th, 2024, has been approved. 3) Staff report – parking lot accident claim for $3,000 that was submitted by a park visitor was denied by our insurance company. New computers, new emails, and new Wi-Fi are now up and running at the mansion. pg. 1 Tarrywile Park Authority September 17th, 2024 Regular Meeting 4) Financial items A. Financial report – report is not ready due to delays and questions. B. Audit status – is making progress. 5) Committee/Task Force Reports A. Park priorities task force – Duane Perkins reported that vine clearing will resume in the fall when the weather is better for this task. B. Grounds Security Task Force – Nancy Wakeman reported that signs are up prohibiting motor vehicles, and the police now have keys to the gates. 6) Old Business A. LoCIP Projects – staff reporting that we’re waiting for a price on completing the mansion updates. B. Report on DEEP Trail Clearing Grant – paperwork has been submitted to City Hall to get 35,000 distributed to Friends of Tarrywile for planning work on the trails. C. Carriage House rental status – a lieutenant in the Danbury Police Department is interested in the rental. D. Gatehouse rental status – tenant is still delinquent and is in the process of being notified of process to get caught up on the rent. E. Volunteer recognition event – Duane Perkins reported that the September 255th event has 67 attendees at this point and is on schedule to be a success. 7) New Business A. Milking parlor rehabilitation volunteer event will be part of the new task force. 8) Other Business – Meadows will be cut at the end of the season by staff.
