01/08/2024 Minutes Attendance: Residents: Darin Wendt, Bryon Robbins, Kendra Tutsch, Brian Dolphin, Jennifer Persike. Bob Sagmoen – Cross Plains Board: Dave Koenig, George Dorn, Rich Haag Angie Volkman-Clerk, Jana Nolden-Treasurer 1. Call meeting to order. The regular Town of Dane Board Meeting was called to order at 6:30pm by Dave Koenig, Town of Dane Chair. 2. Agenda Confirmation. Agenda ok’d; no changes made. 3. Minutes from Special Meeting December 4, 2023. Motion by Dave Koenig, second by Rich Haag to approve the minutes from the special meeting held on 12/4/2023. Motion carried unanimously. 4. Minutes from Previous Meeting December 4, 2023. Motion by George Dorn, second by Richard Haag to approve the minutes from the previous meeting held on 12/4/2023. Motion carried unanimously. 5. TOWN TREASURER REPORT. Motion by George Dorn, second by Rich Haag to approve the Town Treasurer report as read and presented. Motion carried unanimously. 6. Public Input. No one from the public signed up to speak. 7. Public Works Report. Dave Koenig reported everything is going well and have a couple of winter storms heading our way – 1/9/24 and 1/12/2024. Dave Koenig asked Craig if he goes out on a tree call that he notified at least one board member for safety reasons. 8. RECYCLING COMMITTEE REPORT. Rich Haag reported to the Board that the Transfer Site has seen a lot of activity, and everything is looking good around the site. 9. FIRE DISTRICT REPORT. George Dorn reported to the Board that the Fire District did not have a meeting so there was nothing to report to the Board. 10. EMS REPORT. Rich Haag reported to the Board that Lodi EMS was supposed to meet on 12/14 and cancelled the meeting. Waunakee EMS met on 12/14 and approved both the expenditure statement and previous minutes. The AD’s were installed in parks and are to be linked on 1/24/24. 2 Fulltime employees left the Waunakee EMS Dept so they are now looking to replace those positions. 11. Election Update. Kendra reported to the board that we don’t have a Feb. Primary Election. She also mentioned that Dave Ripp after 40 years is retiring from the County Board. The next election is 4/2/24 which is the school board elections along with the Presidential Primary. We are unsure of the turnout but should be high and the Town of Dane is prepared with Election workers. 12. Rural Insurance Audit for 2023. Dave told the Board that our Worker Comp policy went up just over $700. 13. OLD BUSINESS: a. Discussion about ATV routes on Town Roads-No Action. Dave continues talking to other surrounding municipalities and of which they are not also interested. 14. Dan Schmitt driveway permit on Lee Rd. Motion by Koenig, second by Dorn to approve the driveway permit for Dan Schmitt on Lee Rd. Motion carried unanimously. 15. CORRESPONDENCE. None.  16. FINANCE. Bills to be paid. Motion by Rich Haag, second by George Dorn to pay the bills. Motion carried unanimously. 17. Set next meeting date February 5, 2024. Confirmed next board meeting will be 2/5/2024. 18. Roll Call to go into Closed Session. Dave Koenig did not go into closed session as it was no longer necessary. Convene to Closed Session pursuant to WI State Statutes 19.85 (1) (c) Considering employment, promotion, compensation, or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility regarding Town of Dane Personnel. 19. Motion to close Closed Session Meeting-Roll Call. N/A 20. Reconvene to Open Session and take action if necessary. N/A 21. Adjournment. Motion by Dorn, second by Haag to adjourn the meeting.
