Board of Directors Meeting, December 2024
Meeting held: December 16, 2024, 6PM
1. Call to Order: By President Alex Santacruz at 6:03PM
2. Roll Call: Candi Fitzsimons, Matt Walter, Alex Santacruz, Patti Tayhlor, Shawn
O’Brien, Carly Winslow. Cindy Corley and Sonja Weigel were late due to a time error
on agenda.
3. Motion Meeting notice and agenda were properly posted

4. Approval of Minutes from Previous Meeting
a. 1. Winslow 2. Walter. Motion Carried
5. Comments and suggestions from citizens or other parties
a. Multiple positive comments on Tot Time Program and how wonderful it is for
toddlers. Positive comments made on Gingerbread house displays
6. Unfinished Business
a. Past Library Event
i. Staff Meeting with AI presentation from Green Bay conference
ii. Attended Webinars
iii. Directors Meeting-attended via zoom
iv. Carla’s Craft sessions went very well
v. Kindness for Carson shopping well attended
vi. Candi met with an individual about a new book club about health and
wellbeing. Will start in January
vii. After school hot cocoa and cookies today 12/16 with the gingerbread
disguise contest-well attended
viii. Tot time and story hour continue to be well attended
b. Discussion of the next steps of the Strategic Plan
i. Looked at the list of responsibilities and services to be provided by the
library.
ii. Removed 7 as those services are provided by either the school or
another business/municipality in Lafayette County or the city of
Darlington.
iii. Combined some of the remaining items to simplify the objectives.
Candi will edit and bring them back to the next meeting.
7. New Business
a. Upcoming Library Events
i. Candi will continue to do more webinars over the winter months
ii. CD is coming due on Thursday-Candi will check on rates that day and
has our permission to adjust and redo them as she sees fit given the
interest rates on that day.
iii. Friday, December 20th-Collaboration with the Lafayette County 4H
department-4H is bringing supplies to make graham cracker
gingerbread houses and fancy paper stars for the kids
iv. Library is closed December 24th and 25th for the holiday
v. Friday, December 27th-Collaboration with the Driver Opera House in
showing both the old cartoon Grinch movie and the Jim Carey version
for families.
b. Approve payment of vouchers #4623 through #4636
i. 1st Walter, 2nd O’Brien. Motion Carried
8. Set Next Meeting and Adjourn
a. Next Meeting, Monday, January 27th 6:30PM
b. Adjourn: 1st Wiegel, 2nd Walter. Motion Carried. Meeting Adjourned at
7:21PM

HELD ON MONDAY THE 16TH DAY OF DECEMBER 2024 AT 6:30 PM,
AT THE JOHNSON PUBLIC LIBRARY

1. Call to order by presiding officer.
2. Roll call.
3. Motion that the meeting notice and agenda were properly posted.
4. Approve the minutes of the previous meeting, rectifying mistakes if any exist. (Copy
enclosed)
5. Reports, comments, suggestions, and recommendations of citizens present.
6. Unfinished or deferred business from previous committee meetings.
(a) Report on past library events.
(b) Discussion of the next steps concerning the Strategic Plan.
The Committee will go into closed session in accordance with Section 19.85 (1) (c) Wis. Stats.,
conducting performance evaluations of the Library Director.
The Committee will reconvene to regular session in accordance with Section 19.85 (2) Wis.
Stats., to discuss the next steps concerning the Library Director Review process; and continue
with agenda items
7. New business or matters to be taken up by the board.
(a) Notice of upcoming library events.
(b) Approve payment of the following November 2024 vouchers: Librarian account
vouchers #4623 through #4636 in the amount of $11,422.08
8. Adjourn the meeting.
