Max Lohman, City Attorney Katerri Johnson, City Clerk WS.1. 18-101 RISING WATER TASK FORCE RECOMMENDATIONS Sponsors: Public Works Department Attachments: Agenda Cover Memo Rising Waters Task Force CC Workshop 2-13-18 Caryn Gardner Young reported on the recommendations of the Rising Water Task Force. Their goals included: 1. Be proactive 2. Plan adaptation comprehensively 3. Allocate monetary resources 4. Leverage insurance products 5. Educate the public 6. Harness economic development Missie Barletto of the Public Works Department gave a power point presentation. She stated that the city now has a stormwater engineer on staff, as well as a sustainability officer. They are assessing the vulnerability of the rising sea level. The Mayor and Commissioners had several questions of the staff. Mayor Glickstein brought up the idea of building artificial reefs off the coast of Florida.
