McKinney Street, Denton, Texas, at which the following items will be considered: 1. PRESENTATION FROM MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC This section of the agenda permits a person to make comments regarding public business on items not listed on the agenda. This is limited to two speakers per meeting with each speaker allowed a maximum of four (4) minutes. Such person(s) shall have filed a "Blue Card" requesting to speak during this period prior to the calling of this agenda item. 2. ITEMS FOR CONSIDERATION A. PAC19-028 Receive a report, hold a discussion and give staff direction regarding the City of Denton’s Cultural District program, formation of the City’s first Cultural District (the Original Denton District), and the City’s application to the Texas Commission on the Arts Cultural Districts Program. PAC19-027 Consider recommending adoption of an Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Denton, Texas, amending Chapter 22 “Parks and Recreation” of the Code of Ordinances, City of Denton, Texas by amending Section 22-6 “Public Art Committee” to provide that the Public Art Committee shall have the duty to make recommendations to the City Council related to cultural districts; amending Section 22-6 to add the Director of Economic Development as an ex-officio member of the Public Art Committee; and providing an effective date. PAC19-029 Consider recommending adoption of a resolution of the City Council of the City of Denton designating the Original Denton District as a Cultural District; and providing an effective date. Under Section 551.042 of the Texas Open Meetings Act, respond to inquiries from the Public Art Committee or the public with specific factual information or recitation of policy, or accept a proposal to place the matter on the agenda for an upcoming meeting AND Under Section 551.0415 of the Texas Open Meetings Act, provide reports about items of community interest regarding which no action will be taken, to include: expressions of thanks, congratulations, or condolence; information regarding holiday schedules; an honorary or salutary recognition of a public official, public employee, or other citizen; a reminder about an upcoming event organized or sponsored by the governing body; information regarding a social, ceremonial, or community event organized or sponsored by an entity other than the governing body that was attended or is scheduled to be attended by a member of the governing body or an official or employee of the municipality; or an announcement involving an imminent threat to the public health and safety of people in the municipality that has arisen after the posting of the agenda. NOTE: The Public Art Committee reserves the right to adjourn into a Closed Meeting on any item on its Open Meeting agenda consistent with Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code, as amended, or as otherwise allowed by law.
