UNAPPROVED DERBY PARK AND URBAN FORESTRY BOARD MINUTES July 8, 2021 Call to Order: 11:00 A. M. Roll Call: Members Present Members Absent Sherii Farmer Rick Dame Marty Hunt Jason Griffin Bruce Renberger Dave Peebler Matt Beigel Also in attendance: Steve White, Joe Loflin, Shana Sneath Approval of Minutes: Motion: Dave Peebler moved to approve the minutes from March 11, 2021 Second: Bruce Renberger second. Vote: All yea, motion carried. Open Forum: Old Business: Rock River Rapids Slide: The new slide has been installed and has been well received. There was some reconstruction that needed to take place to access the slide with the addition of a bridge across the lazy river among other things. New Business: Goose Round Up: The USDA assisted with the goose round up at High Park the second week in June. They were relocated to Cedar Bluff Reservoir; 124 geese were captured. Park Master Plan RFP: Mr. White let the Board know the RFP for the 2022 Parks Master Plan has been published on the City of Derby website. The plan will serve as a guide for parks planning for the next 15 years. There will be several meetings held to gain input from community members in the future for the plan. Other: New drinking fountains have been installed in most of the parks. The 4th of July Celebration was well attended with approximately 5,000 people in the park itself. The show was a more “aerial” show than in years past to clear the mature trees in High Park. Election of New Chair: Motion by Dave Peebler, seconded by Sherii Farmer to nominate Marty Hunt as the 2021 PUF Board Chairman. All yea, motion approved. 1 Motion to adjourn: Sherii Farmer moved to adjourn the July 8, 2021 PUF meeting. Second: Marty Hunt, second. Vote: All yea, motion carried unanimous. End.
