SOLICITOR’S REPORT
MAYOR’S REPORT
The Mayor reported for September 2022 with total receipts of $----, which included
traffic receipts of $----, non-traffic receipts of $----, and $---- in clerk of court and
miscellaneous receipts. There were -- complaint calls, -- traffic citations, --- non-traffic
citation, and ---- parking ticket.
K-9 REPORT
The K-9 balance is $----- at the end of September 2022.
ZONING OFFICER’S REPORT
There was ----- Zoning Permits, --- UCC and --- demolition Permit issued in the month
of September 2022 by BIU, and they issued nine code enforcement violation notices.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Public Works – Vascar lines were painted on Rt. 217. Alleys were replenished with
gravel as needed. Plow trucks are ready for winter and the diesel truck repaired.
Buildings and Grounds –
Police –. New PT officer has started. K-9 Smoke in process of recertification.
Finance/Budget – Budget meeting scheduled for Weds.,October 12th at 6pm at the
Derry Borough Municipal Building 2nd Floor.
Zoning/UCC/Code – Mark Cypher meeting summary
Parks and Recreation – Fountains at dog-park are broken internally and have been
shut-off for the season. The park is still open but residents should bring their own
water. Water at the community park will be turned off after Trunk or Treat to be held
on October 22, 2022 4pm - 8pm

Fire Protection – No report
Pool Committee – Cover will be placed on pool on Friday 14th and pump house closed
and secured.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Derry Borough Council went into executive session at the Derry Borough
Worksession held on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at 8:10pm for personnel matters for
police and public works. Executive session ended at 8:38pm.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS
1. Board and Commission terms expiring in the Borough:
a) One five-year-term for the Zoning Hearing Board expiring December 31, 2025 and
one vacancy of an unexpired term ending December 31, 2024 and (1) alternate
board member.
b) One (1) four-year term for the planning commission expiring December 31, 2025.
c) Vacancy Board Chairman 2022
2. Porcelain Park - Tysen Miller, KU Resources and Hallie Chatfield, RAWC attended
the worksession and provided an updated plan to the Borough Council as office and light
industrial business park. The site plan includes widening street access to accommodate
large vehicles throughout the business park and rail access.

5. 2022 Paving Project
6. Garland Mills Project – Approve Pay Estimate #5 for BCS Construction including
paving and Change Order #4 for payment of $42,209.16. Curbs and guardrail still need
installed.

8. Approve Addendum for Public Works Contract allowing the hiring of seasonal
employment not exceeding 100 days annually at the pleasure of council.
