Jennifer Calkins expressed the need for a stop sign on 4th Avenue and Mesquite Avenue. NEW BUSINESS: 2. Goals for 2022 The Commission discussed goals for 2022 including: increasing the budget for Police Department staffing, additional traffic and pedestrian signage and lighting at intersections, medical unit for the Fire Department, Fire Department Station 98 opening, Dispatch Center, and ambulance deployment response. 3. Page 1 of 2 Page 14 of 29 Truck Report recorded 0 responses in from 2/1/2022 1:40:11 PM to 2/28/2022 1:40:11 PM Significant Incidents 20CARRU017086 On , CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department resources arrived at scene of a 500 Sq. ft. single-story residential structure fully involved with fire. The structure was in a dilapidated state with no utilities in-service and was unoccupied at the time of the fire. The applicable gas and electric companies assessed the utilities and advised they were not in service at the time of the fire. The City of Desert Hot Springs Building and Safety Division responded to the incident and red tagged the structure. 22CARRU023987 On , CAL FIRE / Riverside County Fire firefighters responded to a report of a residential structure fire in the 9700 block of El Mirador Blvd. in the City of Desert Hot Springs. Upon arrival, the first arriving engine reported heavy smoke from the front of the residence. Upon entering the structure, firefighters discovered a working fire in the attic. An interior attack by firefighters quickly contained the fire. The residence was not occupied at the time of the fire. No civilian or firefighter injuries occurred. Firefighters remained on scene for several hours for mop ip and overhaul. City of Desert Hot Springs Building and Safety was contacted to determine the safety of the structure. 22CARRU028805 On , CAL FIRE / Riverside County Firefighters responded to multiple reports of a residental structure fire in the 13000 blk of Ramona Drive in the City of Desert Hot Springs. The first arriving engine crew observed heavy smoke and fire conditions from the attic area. A coordinated fire attack was established by the first arriving crew and augmented by additional arriving resources. Shortly into fire suppression operations, a significant roof collapse occurred and all personnel were withdrawn from the structure. Two adults and one minor were displaced by the fire and are being assisted by the American Red Cross. One civilian received minor injuries and was evaluated, but not transported.
