CITY OF DOUGLAS TRANSIT ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 2013 - 10:00 A.M. VISITORS CENTER 345 16TH STREET, DOUGLAS, AZ 85607 MINUTES 1. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 10:00 a.m. by Humberto Rivera, Transit Manager. 2. ROLL CALL Members present: Corinna Carbajal, Connie Gastelum, Danny Morales, Sandy Bryan, John Vaughn and Humberto Rivera. Staff present: Ana Urquijo, Jessica Urrea. 3. CALL TO THE PUBLIC There were no members of the public present. 4. REVIEW OF MINUTES There were no changes. 5. NEW BUSSINES: Review of financial statement by Humberto, comments in regards to leaving money on the table and fare recovery percentage is good. Also mentioned ridership goal of 45,000 will be met and probably go over 47,000 riders by Jessica Urrea. Ana Urquijo was introduced as Supervisor for Transit, she mentioned that it was a challenge this first year because of the different fiscal years between ADOT and CO and the same with the budgets but so far we are in good standing. BISBEE CONNECTION REPORT: Information provided by Humberto Rivera as far as ridership for the first three weeks reports it increased substantially, an extra vehicle is being provided in the morning run to absorb the overflow of students from the regular bus that fills to capacity. A proposal to do a 9:30am run was mentioned and discussed by Sandy Bryan from Cochise College, City will do survey from College riders to find out if a 9:30 am run will be a better option. VEHICLE MAINTENANCE: All vehicles have been receiving regular maintenance; two of the vehicles on lease from ADOT are at mechanics. EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT: Hired new driver Rodolfo Casillas. 6. STAFF COMMENTS: Ana commented on possible software for ridership by City of Douglas. 7. MEMBER’S COMMENTS: Question of when is next grant application, ADOT has not notified when the process will start. 8. NEXT MEETING: Next meeting was scheduled for December 11, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. 9. ADJOURNMENT- Meeting adjourned at 12:25 p. m.
