NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Village Board and Plan Commission of the Village of Dousman will
hold a public hearing and a joint meeting on the 14th of January, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at the Village Hall
located at 118 S. Main Street, Dousman, Wisconsin.
The purpose of the meeting will be to hold the following public hearing:
To consider an application filed by Minerva Figueroa on behalf of Peace Eagle Sanctuary for a new
Condition Use Permit to allow for physical and mental health counseling, including allowance of
overnight stays by clients, under the Conditional Use category of “Private Clubs and Outdoor Facilities,
such as recreational camps, golf courses, bathing beaches, riding academies and resorts” allowed within
the SR-1, Single-Family Residential District. The application includes a request to construct an addition
to the front of the existing building for a residence and garage to be occupied by the applicant, and
conversion of the existing residence for counseling and overnight stays. The subject property, with the
prior address of 36847 Sunset Drive when the property was within the Village of Summit, and now in the
Village of Dousman with the address of 315 West Sunset Drive, is legally described as follows:
Part of the Southwest ¼ of Section 34, Town 7 North, Range 17 East, Village of Dousman, Waukesha
County, Wisconsin; Commencing 418.4 feet east of intersection of west line of Section 34 and highway;
South 0° East 1,028 feet to river, South 58° 27’ East 54 feet, South 69° 14” East 81.3 feet, South 43° 25’
East 101.4 feet, South 3° 36’ West 98.8 feet, North 64° 6’ East 80.8 feet, South 71° 01’ East 85.2 feet,
North 14° 10’ East 147.3 feet, North 2° 20’ West 1288.4 feet to Highway, South 32° 23’ West 82.5 feet,
South 68° 19’ West 299.6 feet to the Point of Beginning; excluding Document Numbers 129118,
2419351 and 4247539 recorded in the Office of the Waukesha County Register of Deeds; containing
approximately 10.08 acres.
The Plan Commission and Village Board may take action on the forgoing Conditional Use Permit
application immediately following the hearings or at a future meeting date.
A copy of the full application may be viewed at Dousman Village Hall during normal business hours.
Written comments will be accepted, and all people wishing to speak will be heard.
It is possible that members of and possibly a quorum of members of other governmental bodies of the
municipality may be in attendance at the above-stated meeting to gather information; no action will be
taken by any governmental body at the above-stated meeting other than the governmental body
specifically referred to above in this notice.
