Community and Government Affairs Committee Meeting Minutes Monday, January 8, 2024 6:00 PM Present: Councilpersons Ben Bell, Elizabeth Wyckoff, and Larry Browne, Borough Manager John Davis, and Recreation and Special Events Coordinator Caitlin Hernandez. Approval of November 13, 2023 Minutes. Minutes were approved as submitted. Committee Overview. Ben reviewed the mission of the Committee. 2023 Economic Development Report. Caitlin gave an overview of the many new businesses coming to the Borough. There aren't many current vacancies. 2023 Social Media Report. Caitlin reviewed the most recent social media activity and demographic information, as well as the growth through the year with the Committee. Caitlin has requested input from the Borough businesses to showcase them in new weekly social media posts. 2022-2023 Committee Review. Ben shared accomplishments of the Committee including how to continue community involvement during public meetings through COVID and a new social media policy. Pending/Unresolved Topics. John reviewed the ongoing issue with Council Chambers unable to host Zoom meetings. Larry asked for that work to continue and John will have the audio/visual and IT companies come back to work that out. Ben and Larry would like the discussion to continue regarding the noise ordinance in connection to lawn equipment. John will talk with the EAC on where that discussion was left. John and Ben explained the process of how Committee member terms work, as well as when remote attendance is permitted for Committee members. New/Old Business. None.
