Emergency Preparedness and Communication Board Meeting Minutes Thursday, June 12, 2025 6:00 p.m. Present: Councilmember Larry Browne, Borough Fire Marshal Scott Fleischer, Joshua Brown, Mary Patricia Ford, Amy Kremser, Pamela LaLande, Beth Lander, and Philip Masters. Borough Manager John Davis, Borough Council President Jack O’Brien, Mayor Noni West and Borough Planning Commission Chair James Lannon also attended. Introductions. Board members introduced themselves and shared their experience. Larry reviewed meeting procedures as well as current emergency management procedures. The group also discussed the upcoming meeting schedule as well as administrative details. Sunshine Requirements. Board members reviewed legal requirements for public meetings. Vision. Larry shared details about FEMA and CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) training, and the group talked about their hopes for community coordination through this Board. Scott reviewed the procedures handled by various Federal, State, and local agencies and how they work together. Near Term Goals/Needs. The Board unanimously nominated Joshua Brown as Chair and Beth Lander as Vice Chair. Creating a volunteer group of community members to assist in emergency situations is a key goal for the Board, as well as developing a mission statement.
