Minutes

EAC November 19, 2024 Minutes Members in Attendance: Steven Nelson, Dan Ford, David Reidel, Grant Alger, Karen Graziano (via Zoom), and Building and Zoning Director Karyn Hyland. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 6:38 pm. Approval of Minutes October 15, 2024: Minutes were approved. Reports: Farmer’s Market/Outreach & Communication: Dave and Grant have reviewed the website list on the Drive. Dave shared examples of website updates that need to be made. Links, dates, and other items to be corrected or updated have been noted. The Farmer’s Market will start again in April 2025. Earth Day: Earth Day is Tuesday, April 22, 2025. Karen will contact the Master Gardeners to secure a space for the event next year. Due to other holidays falling close to Earth Day, merging any Earth Day and Arbor Day celebrations may be beneficial. Karyn will work on logistics. Grant thinks Bird Town can have representation at the event, too. As of this meeting, April 26, 2025, will be the working date for planning purposes now. Kid activities should also be a consideration for the upcoming year’s event. Another consideration is the time of the event, whether it should be 10-1 or 10-noon. Food trucks are an option, but that requires some additional discussion and an offer to Borough Businesses. DCAP: Steve shared the DCAP update and thanked everyone for their comments. The group discussed edits that need to be made, the logistics of rolling out the plan, when to hold public meetings to discuss it, and how to proceed with its implementation. Bird Town: Grant gave an update for Bird Town. Grant attended the annual Bird Town Summit and shared what other municipalities do and collaboration opportunities. Grant questioned whether the Borough wants to continue Bird Town certification and discussed the administrate obligations. Comprehensive Plan Update: The Comp Plan includes several recommendations that mirror those from the DCAP. It will include a recommendation to incorporate the DCAP as a plan amendment when the time comes. Index of Open Areas: Dan is developing various layers for the mapping. This is still a work in progress, and he aims to complete more by the next meeting. Old/New Business: Karyn shared the update on the Fonthill Stormwater Project under new business. She gave an overview of the plan and what will be in store for the property. The Borough’s portion of the project is the stormwater management facilities on the property. The Borough has an easement in perpetuity for maintenance of the facility. At the beginning of the meeting, Karyn shared that Jason Woods will be a new member in January 2025. He was appointed to fill a vacancy and comes from the Economic Development Advisory Board. Adjournment: With no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 9:15 pm. Respectfully Submitted by: Erika Fellman Minutes Secretary
