Fanny Chapman Pool Board of Managers Minutes of the Meeting May 18, 2026 Attending: Brian Lang (Chair), Dave Ricci (VC), Alan Braverman, Lori Howard, Rebecca Masters, Amy Parenti, Mike Petrakis, Sarah Yakubic. Also present were Pool Manager Drew Sterner and Student Member Aubrey Dwulet-Brady Absent: John West, Borough Liaison Caroline Brinker The meeting was called to order at 7:02 P.M. by Brian. Brian and the Board welcomed Student Member Aubry Dwulet-Brady. Approval of the Minutes The minutes of the April 27, 2026, meeting were reviewed. Alan made a motion to approve the minutes, the motion was seconded by Sarah, and the minutes were unanimously approved. Finance – Mike, Sarah The Board reviewed invoices totaling $37,299.40. The invoices paid were standard expenditures and budgeted costs, including payment to Don Kelly for pre-season project work and materials in the amount of $32,027.80 Sarah will continue to research point of sale nonprofit provider options that may reduce transaction fees. Alan made a motion to approve payment of the invoices, the motion was seconded by Dave, and the motion to approve payment of the invoices was unanimously approved. Operations – John, Alan Nothing to report. Programs – Lori, Becki, Dave, Alan Becki contacted (2) YMCA Aqua Aerobics Instructors, and each are available to teach 1 day a week this season. In addition to these classes, Becki asked if Fanny Chapman could offer a deep-water class in the deep-water pool . This class would require floating belts. Becki will research the cost of the belts and Drew will determine if a half-hour slot in August could be made available. A program price may be considered. Personnel – Lori, Dave, Mike Drew provides a staffing update in his pool manager’s report. Long Range Planning – Brian, Mike, John, Drew, Lori The immediate project remains the main pool concrete floor repair to be completed this year. Caroline reported that the Environment and Recreation Committee reviewed the Pool Board’s recommendation, and on May 5th they also recommend the bid be awarded to the USA Construction LLC. The Borough Council will review the bid recommendation at their meeting tonight. Gilmore feels the work can be completed to specifications in the Sept- December timeline. Brian asked that the July agenda include a check-in with Gilmore to confirm that the project will begin when the pool closes in early September. Drew spoke with Don Kelly and Don offered to be a consultant for the project and will check in daily on the progress. The Board agreed this was a good idea and asked that this be put on the July agenda. Drew will have Don prepare a proposal for review. Community Project Subcommittee update – John from the Y is expected to meet with Drew on site to gather measurements and specific data needed to develop a more detailed pro-forma for the project. Mike can touch base with John this week and will provide an update. Potential roof repairs should be included in the long-range planning. Membership Rules –Becki, Amy, Sarah Nothing to report. 100th Anniversary Celebration – Amy, Becki Becki reported the event date has been finalized as June 26th, 2027, and the time will be 11:00-1:00PM. The video development is in progress, t-shirts will be created for the event, and there will be an opening day ceremony scheduled for Memorial Day 2027. The commemorative tiles go on sale May 23 rd and will be available for purchase at the pool. A Scavenger Hunt is scheduled for the beginning of the 2027 season, and the winner will receive a free membership. The Committee will seek additional sponsorship. They are also planning on 1-2 Dive in movies during the 2027 season. Mike offered to set up a website page to advertise the events and the items for sale. Drew will work with Becki and will include landscaping and area improvement costs for the 100th anniversary celebration in the 2027 budget. Pool Manager’s Report – Drew Drew reported Family Memberships total 886 compared to 877 in 2025, total other memberships are 496 compared to 483 last year and Swim/Dive team registrations are 222/11 (dive) compared to 192/9 in 2025. All staff positions have been filled, and two orientations have been completed. The water filling station was installed, and the diving boards were installed and inspected. The pool is fully staffed, and two staff orientations were completed in April. There are 5 new assistant coaches for this season, Paige McKenzie as Dive Meet Director, and Sarah Staudenmeier as Head Coach. Drew included two bids for a new sound system: World Wide Stereo and All Systems Audio and Video. Drew contacted Oddity TV and Sound on April 28th but has not received any response. After review, the Board recommends All System Audio be awarded the project. Brian will follow up with Caroline, but the Board made a preliminary motion to approve. Dave made a motion to award the new sound system bid to All Systems Audio and Video, the motion was seconded by Becki, and the motion to award the new sound system bid to All Systems Audio and Video was unanimously approved. Swim Team Parents’ Report Sherry was not in attendance. The Bucks Mont League by Laws are scheduled to be approved tonight. The Board received the recommended by-laws revisions and will push the Board review and approval to the June meeting. The next meeting will be held on June 22nd at the Pool Complex. April 16th in the library.
