Borough of Doylestown Shade Tree Commission Minutes Tuesday, December 9, 2025 6:30 P.M. Commission members in attendance included Lisa Moscherosch, Kayvon Tabatabai, Jean Weston, Baldev Lamba, and Christopher May. Also present were Borough Arborist Bob McMullin, Grant Rowe, Sustainability Coordinator, and Karyn Hyland, Director of Planning and Zoning. Call to Order: Lisa Moscherosch called the meeting to order at 6:30pm. Approval of Minutes: The November 2025 minutes were approved. (WESTON/TABATABAI) Subdivision/Land Development: None. Tree Applications: 1. 52 E. State Street, Market Way Property, Property Owner. a. Bobby Simone and Lanny Morgnanesi were in attendance representing the Market Way Property Owners Association. Bobby shared that a Sycamore tree was leaning on his 52 E. State Street property, damaging a gutter on the building and creating noise inside the restaurant property that impacted customers. The Commission shared that the tree showed little to no decline in health and that, given its age, would likely grow slowly in diameter, e.g. a sixteenth to a quarter of an inch per year. They recommended reworking/rerouting the impacted gutter, offering the tree a few inches of room. Due to its slow horizontal expansion, the Commission suggested that a few inches of room could allow the tree to stay for years to decades. Following conversation, Bobby Simone and Lanny Morgnanesi agreed to withdraw their application on behalf of the Market Way Property Owners Association. 2. 203 Davis Road, Anne Reshetar, Property Owner a. The homeowner was not in attendance. The Commission recommended approval. (MAY/WESTON) Old/New Business: None. Reports: 1. Chairperson Report a. Lisa Moscherosch recommended that Commission members think about their positions/role for next year (Chairperson, Vice-Chair, etc.) as well as to consider potential projects such as updating the Borough website with an easily accessible list of recommended plants for community members. b. Tree Tabulation Report. This report will continue to be shared going forward. 2. Arborist’s Report a. Bob McMullin discussed challenges with Beech leaf disease and other hazards impacting tree species, including options for addressing disease and challenges with communication around it. Public Comment: None. Adjournment. There will be no further business before the Shade Tree Commission. The meeting was adjourned at 8:03pm.
