MEETING MINUTES City of Dripping Springs Farmers Market Association Board Meeting Agenda Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at 10:00 AM City Hall, 511 Mercer Street, Dripping Springs, Texas I. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL COMMISSION: Marianne Simmons - Chair Gouri Johannsen Aimee Mick Diana Black Teresa Strube Aubrey Munguia Claudia Oney Gary Gilstrap Market Manager: Laurel Robertson The Regular Meeting of the City of Dripping Springs Farmers Market Association Board was called to order at 10:05AM, Tuesday, April 12, 2016 by Marianne Simmons, Chair. Roll call was taken and members present included, Teresa Strube, Gary Gilstrap Diana Black, Gouri Johannsen, Claudia Oney Aubrey Munguia and Aimee Mick, acting as secretary. II. PRESENTATION BY CITIZENS Floor open to discussion on any subject. No action may be taken by law. Citizens wishing to speak shall do so after being recognized by the Chair. The Chair may establish a time limit on each citizen wishing to speak. No citizens were present to make presentations. III. MINUTES A. Approval of Regular Meeting Minutes, March 14, 2016 A motion was made by Teresa Strube and second by Aimee Mick to approve the Regular Meeting Minutes for March 14, 2016 with the change of adding the word MINUTES to the title. VOTE: 8-for, 0 –against. Motion passes. IV. REPORTS A. Farmers Market Manager's Monthly Report Report from the Market Manager to the Board regarding Farmers Market activities. Laurel reported on vendor apps, new vendors, and inspections B. Fiscal Year 2016 Budget Revenues and Expenses Monthly Report No discussion V. MARKET EVENTS PLANNING AND UPDATES Discussion and possible action regarding: A. Planning the Plant Sale to be held April 13, 2016 B. Founders Day Festival Parade on April 22, 2016 C. Planning the Tomato Round-Up being held June 25, 2016 No discussion on above VI. MARKETING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS Discussion and possible action regarding: A. Marketing and Public Relations Committee Report Reviewed Marilyn’s report B. New Farmers Market Logo Recommendations A motion was made by Marianne Simmons and second by Gary Gilstrap to approve the logo recommended by the marketing committee. VOTE: 8-for, 0 –against. Motion passes. Page 1 of 2  C. Report on the presentation made to the Dripping Springs Rotary Club on March 21, 2016 D. Recommendation to City Council to Apply for the USDA Farmers Market Promotion Grant Grant Development Services, Gandalf Burris, Grant Writing Contractor addressed the Board regarding being available to write the USDA Farmers Market Promotion Grant. Deadline for writing the grant is May, 12, 2016. Brain-stormed supporting concepts to present to Council to approve grant costs, and survey questions to present to vendors. A motion was made by Gary Gilstrap and second by Teresa Strube to recommend city council approves applying for the USDA Farmers Market Promotion Grant with the following conditions. The application will be for approximately $50,000 to $75,000 total over a three year period beginning September 2016. The Farmers Market Board will allocate from the budget, the $1,500 initial grant writing fee to Grant Services Development and is requesting for the City to fund the 5% fee if the grant is awarded. The Board will need to get a city. VOTE: 8-for, 0 -against, Motion passes. VII. SPONSORSHIPS SUBCOMMITTEE REPORT Discussion and possible action regarding: A.
