I. Call to Order and Guest Introductions
a. The meeting was called to order at 9:02 a.m. by Katie Seiz.
II. Approval of Minutes – September and October 2020
a. MOTION: The Durham Public Art Committee approves the September summary
meeting minutes with corrections to the meeting adjournment time (Williams,
Richie 2nd)
ACTION: Approved. (11-0).
b. The approval of the October 2020 summary minutes has been moved to the
December meeting.

V. New Business
a. Upcoming Public Art Project Update, Linda Salguero
i. Durham County’s upcoming public art project located on 300 East Main
Street near the Health and Human Services Building and the new
Durham County Library will be located along the exterior wall facing
Queen Street, providing opportunity for a large, artistic façade
treatment.
ii. The RFQ released received 97 responses, with 5 artists shortlisted and
entering into the current process of conducting interviews. Durham
County will report back in early spring 2021 with further updates on the
project, including potential areas for local artists to be involved.

The November Public Art Committee meeting ended early at 9:38 AM due to technical
difficulties on Zoom.

Board during their December meeting.

Committee with a term beginning in January 2021.
iii. Review and Discussion of the Public Art Committee’s Goals (20 minutes)
• Group Discussion of the Public Art Committee’s equity goals for FY20/21,
including a discussion of priority goals based on the
