Durham Workers Rights Commission Meeting 02.28.2023- Virtually via Zoom Attendees: Antonio Luster, Brian Powell, Bjorn Perdersen, Leah Candelario, Bertha Bradley Agenda Items: CALL TO ORDER: 6:06pm PUBLIC COMMENTS – No one spoke during public comments. MINUTES/OLD BUSINESS A. Note: The vote on the January 24th Meeting minutes were held due to no quorum B. Welcome of New Visitors C. Chair Luster reminded members of reappointments for the seats on the Board. An email was sent to all members to reapply. D. Chair Luster stated that the updates to the City Grievance process will be rescheduled with the City Manager in March. E. Chair Luster stated that the Southern Worker’s Assembly is in the process of rebuilding and are not having any meetings at this time. • Southern Worker’s School in Charlotte 4/21-4/23 COMMITTEE UPDATES: A. Note: Brian Powell stated there are no updates for the Workers+ Committee. Updates forthcoming when information is received. B. Chair Luster answered questions from visitors that inquired about joining the commission. C. Brian Powell gave a summary about the work/operations of the Workers+ iv. B. Committee. ANNOUNCEMENTS- A. Chair Luster encouraged those visiting to come back next session. B. Bertha Bradley stated she will be honored at the Next City Council Meeting on April 3rd at 7pm.
