DURYEA BOROUGH COUNCIL MEETING March 8, 2022 Swearing in of Mike Lombardo as a permanent member of the Civil Service Commission. Mayor Bauman and Council members have been provided a copy of the agenda in advance of this meeting. o Public comment regarding agenda items. o Reports from department heads. o Council and Mayor comments. MEETING • Pledge to the flag. • An attendance roll call will now be taken by the Manager. • With a quorum present, the meeting will continue. • Council met in executive session on February 15, 2022, and again this evening to discuss legal matters of the ARA funds. • Please be advised that this public meeting was advertised in the Times Leader in the legal section. A copy of the legal ad is attached. • All minutes, correspondence, bills, and reports are available for inspection. • Discussion regarding SocialArchive, a social archiving solution for social media. • Discussion regarding funding for the Yuhas property. • Discussion regarding the Rec Board account. Motion: • to accept the minutes as posted • that all correspondence be accepted, action be taken where necessary and placed on file • that all bills, wages, salaries, and commissions be paid when funds are available. • to approve payment of bills that were paid after the previous meeting, but before approval of bills for the current meeting • that all reports be accepted, action be taken where necessary and placed on file. 1  • to appoint the following part-time police officers for the month of April 2022, as necessary for the general welfare, health, and safety of the public: • Officers- Malvizzi Giles Wall • to accept a resignation from Tyler Brody from the Duryea Street Department • to hire __________________ as a part-time laborer for the Duryea Street Department with a starting rate of $15.50/hour • to hire __________________ as a full-time CDL/Laborer for the Duryea Street Department at a rate of $18.50/hour for a new hire, or an additional $3.00 per hour (to their current hourly salary) for an existing employee • to accept the amendments to the Civil Service Commission regulations • to authorize the Civil Service Commission to move forward with the testing process and advertise for the position of a full-time police officer • to approve Resolution 2022-3 regarding a Statewide Local Share Account Grant for the remaining Street Department building project in the amount of $836,250. • to approve Resolution 2022-4 regarding a Statewide Local Share Account Grant for a storage building for the Duryea Wildcats Football and Cheer Association in the amount of $24,000. • to put the 2013 Dodge Charger (fair market value between $7,000 and $7,500) on the Municibid website with the following specifications: o Inspect vehicle? o will council vote on price? if so, what date? o is there a reserve price? o is there a starting bid? o what is the starting bid date/time? o what is the ending bid date/time? • to pass Resolution 2022-5 to appoint _________________________________ as the 2022 Duryea Borough Tax Collector, term to expire 1/1/2024. • to approve the purchase of an LED sign from KC Signs, at a cost of $57,440, to place at the front of the borough building.
