DURYEA BOROUGH COUNCIL MEETING December 13, 2022 WORKSESSION o The agenda has been made available for public inspection. Mayor Bauman and Council members have been provided a copy of the agenda in advance of this meeting. o Public comment regarding agenda items. o Reports from department heads. o Council and Mayor comments. MEETING • Pledge to the flag. • An attendance roll call will now be taken by the Manager. • With a quorum present, the meeting will continue. • Council met in executive session this evening to discuss legal matters and personnel of the Street and Police Departments. • Please be advised that this public meeting was advertised in the Times Leader in the legal section. A copy of the legal ad is attached. • All minutes, correspondence, bills, and reports are available for inspection. Motion: • to accept the minutes as posted. • that all correspondence be accepted, action be taken where necessary and placed on file. • that all bills, wages, salaries, and commissions be paid when funds are available. • to approve payment of bills that were paid after the previous meeting, but before approval of bills for the current meeting. • that all reports be accepted, action be taken where necessary and placed on file. • to accept the resignation of Matthew Cianfichi from the Duryea Police Department. • to appoint the following part-time police officers for the month of January 2023, as necessary for the general welfare, health, and safety of the public: o Officers- Giles Wall • to appoint ____________________ as the Tax Collector for tac collection in 2023. • to adopt the proposed 2023 budget. 1  • to accept that all council meetings are to be held on the second Tuesday of each month in 2023. Work session to begin at 6:30 p.m., immediately followed by the council meeting. • to ratify the hiring of Brian Stepanovich as a part-time laborer for the Duryea Street Department as of December 7, 2022. • to accept a snowplow bid from ________________________ on an emergency basis at $______________ per hour, with current specs. • to promote Tyler Szumski to full-time Laborer/CDL Driver for the Duryea Street Department, as of January 1, 2023. • to approve Resolution 2022-16, which sets the new prices for garbage fees for 2023. • to make a one-time contribution to Excelsior Hose Company and Germania Hose Company in the amount of $2,750 each, from the ARPA Fund.
