DURYEA BOROUGH COUNCIL MEETING April 9, 2024 ***UPDATE*** WORKSESSION o The agenda has been made available for public inspection. Council members have been provided with a copy of the agenda in advance of this meeting. o Public comment regarding agenda items. o Reports from department heads. o Council and Mayor comments. MEETING • Pledge to the flag. • An attendance roll call will now be taken by the Manager. • With a quorum present, the meeting will continue. • Council met in executive session this evening to discuss personnel matters of the Police Department. • Please be advised that this public meeting was advertised in the Times Leader in the legal section. A copy of the legal ad is attached. • All minutes, correspondence, bills, and reports are available for inspection. Motion: • to accept the minutes as posted. • that all correspondence be accepted, action be taken where necessary and placed on file. • that all bills, wages, salaries, and commissions be paid when funds are available. • to approve payment of bills that were paid after the previous meeting, but before approval of bills for the current meeting. • that all reports be accepted, action be taken where necessary and placed on file. • to appoint the following part-time police officers for the month of May 2024, as necessary for the general welfare, health, and safety of the public: o Officers- Giles Wall • to repeal Ordinance 2007-5 regarding the feeding of wild birds in the borough. • to approve a handicap placard at 411 New Street. • to approve a handicap placard at 234 Pettebone Street. • to approve paving on the following streets _________________________ utilizing Liquid Fuels funds (options: Railroad St. #1, Railroad St. #2, Railroad St. #3, Cherry St.). • to amend the agenda by adding a motion to award the Liquid Fuels Paving Project. 1  • to award the Liquid Fuels Paving Project to _____________________, in the amount of $_________________. • to approve Ordinance 2024-1 regarding an update to the Floodplain Ordinance. • to pass Resolution 2024-3 to undertake a project through the Strategic Management Planning Program (STMP) for a comprehensive downtown and recreational plan. • to pass Resolution 2024-4 for a plan revision for new land development for a project by the Duryea Borough Sewer Authority.
