DURYEA BOROUGH COUNCIL MEETING February 11, 2025 WORKSESSION o The agenda has been made available for public inspection. MEETING • Pledge to the flag. • An attendance roll call will now be taken by the Manager. • With a quorum present, the meeting will continue. • Council met in executive session this evening to discuss legal matters regarding the acquisition of property and personnel matters of the street department. • Please be advised that this public meeting was advertised in the legal section of the Times Leader, which is attached. • All minutes, correspondence, bills, and reports are available for inspection. • Reports from department heads. • Council and Mayor comments. Old Business • Safety Committee members New Business • 2025 Liquid Fuels Paving Project • 2025 LSA suggestions Motion: • to accept the minutes as posted. • that all correspondence be accepted, action be taken where necessary and placed on file. • that all bills, wages, salaries, and commissions be paid when funds are available. • to approve payment of bills that were paid after the previous meeting, but before approval of bills for the current meeting. • that all reports be accepted, action be taken where necessary and placed on file. • to appoint the following part-time police officers for the month of February 2025, as necessary for the general welfare, health, and safety of the public: Giles – Wall - Harris 1  • to authorize the engineer to put out streets for paving utilizing the 2023-2024 CDBG funds. (The following streets were chosen in September 2024 - Bennett Street, Lincoln Street, Meyer Street and Grove Street.) • to approve payment for the Germania Remodel Local Share Account grant in the amount of $82,620 once reimbursement from DCED is received. • to obtain cost estimates from engineers for the following streets for the 2025 Liquid Fuels Paving Project:___________________________________________________. • to turn the 2018 Ford Interceptor SUV over to the Duryea Fire Police (borough retains ownership with vehicle on borough insurance policy).
