CITY OF DUVALL DRAFT SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES September 20, 2021 4:00 P.M. – Virtual Meeting via Zoom Due to public health emergency, this meeting was held remotely. All Councilmembers and staff attended via Zoom webinar. The City Council Meeting was called to order by Mayor Ockerlander at 4:05 P.M. Roll Call Council Present: Amy McHenry, Dorothy Lengyel, Mike Remington, Jennifer Knaplund, Dianne Brudnicki, Michelle Hogg, (absent: Rick Shaffer) Staff Present: Lara Thomas, Ryan Cotton, Jodi Wycoff I. Additions or Corrections to the Agenda: There were no additions or corrections to the agenda. II. Adoption of Council Agenda: It was moved and seconded (Hogg-Lengyel) to approve the 09/20/21 Special Council Agenda. The motion carried (6 ayes). III. Comments from the Audience: There were no comments from the audience. IV. Executive Session: Qualifications of applicant for public employment – 45 minutes RCW 42.30.110(1)(g) 4:07 p.m. City Council went into a 45-minute Executive Session regarding qualifications of an applicant for public employment In attendance at Executive Session: Mayor Amy Ockerlander, Councilmembers Dianne Brudnicki, Amy McHenry, Mike Remington, Michelle Hogg, Jennifer Knaplund, and Dorothy Lengyel; and Interim City Administrator Ryan Cotton. 4:52 p.m. The Executive Session Closed. 4:52 p.m. City Council took a recess to conduct in-person meet and greet meetings with candidates for City Administrator. 6:18 p.m. Mayor Ockerlander called the meeting back to order. V. New Business: 1. Interviews for City Administrator City Council asked each candidate a round of questions. Ryan Cotton, Interim City Administrator, gave a brief summary of each candidate’s reference check responses and said that there may be a Special Meeting on September 28, 2021 to appoint the new City Administrator and approve an employment agreement. VI.
