CITY OF DUVALL CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MINUTES June 23, 2015 – 5:30 p.m. Duvall Visitor Center – 15619 NE Main Street Mayor Pro Tem Brudnicki called the meeting order at 5:30 p.m. Council present: Jason Walker, Becky Nixon, Leroy Collinwood, Amy Ockerlander, Dianne Brudnicki, Gary Gill (absent: Scott Thomas) Staff present: Carey Hert, PJ Rodriguez, Lara Thomas, Jodi Wycoff, City Attorney Rachel Turpin a. Email Training PJ Rodriguez, Snoqualmie IT Manager, gave a PowerPoint presentation about switching to Office 365 which is scheduled for Friday and reviewed a handout that gave instructions on how Council will access email after the switch. Mr. Rodriguez then answered questions from Council about the new process. b. Council device options Mayor Pro Tem Brudnicki reviewed the documents from the packet which outlined the pros and cons of Council getting City-owned devices and the costs of a few options. Council discussed the options and asked questions of PJ Rodriguez, Snoqualmie IT Manager. There was Council consensus to purchase and use City-owned devices. Mr. Rodriguez said that they should be delivered by the end of July. c. Social Media Policy Councilmember Amy Ockerlander explained the history behind needing a Social Media Policy and reviewed the draft policies that were in the packet. There are two policies to draft. The first is the Social Media Policy and the second is a Council Ombudsman Policy. There have been recent changes in legislation that could affect the policies. Council discussed the possibility of the ombudsman policy including more than just social media. Councilmember Ockerlander will continue to work with the City Attorney on the policies and bring them back at a future meeting for further discussion. d. Good of the Order Mayor Pro Tem Brudnicki announced the dates for two upcoming special meetings. The Economic Development Workshop will be on Monday, July 13th at 6:30 p.m. and the Transition Retreat will be on Saturday, August 29th starting at 9:00 a.m. Both meetings will be held at the Duvall Visitor Center.
