COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MINUTES
June 20, 2017 – 5:30 p.m.

Mayor Pro Tem Amy Ockerlander called the meeting to order at 5:38 p.m.
Council present: Dianne Brudnicki, Becky Nixon, Scott Thomas, Michelle Hogg, Amy
Ockerlander, Matthew Eyer (absent: Jason Walker)
Staff present: Lara Thomas, Boyd Benson, Larissa Grundell, Lindsey Vaughn, PJ Rodriguez,
Jodi Wycoff
a. Good of the Order
Councilmember Scott Thomas asked if there were any updates regarding the NE 124th Street/West
Snoqualmie Valley Road intersection traffic lights. Boyd Benson, Public Works Director, said that he
will look into the issue and contact King County to see if the traffic light at that intersection needs to
be adjusted.
b. IT Services Update
PJ Rodriguez, Snoqualmie IT Manager, gave a presentation to review and update Council on the goals
and accomplishments to date for the City’s Information Technology. Mr. Rodriguez said that 2017 is
year three of the contract and reviewed what the plan for 2017 is what has actually occurred to-date
this year. Mr. Rodriguez explained that due to unforeseen circumstances (a lightning strike during a
recent storm) some of the planned items had to be pushed for emergency situations. Mr. Rodriguez
reviewed new items that will assist IT including a new monitoring system which allows them to view
the City’s critical infrastructure at all times. Lastly, Mr. Rodriguez reviewed the challenges they face
with Duvall’s IT systems including systems that require upgrades and funding the necessary upgrades
and replacements.
c. IT ILA contract amendment
Lara Thomas, Acting City Administrator, explained that this amendment will increase the monthly
service hours from 80 hours to 100 hours. This item will be on the next agenda for further discussion.
d. WPM ONE MOU Amendment
Lara Thomas, Planning Director, said that this amendment extends the term of the Memorandum of
Understanding (MOU) to December 31, 2018. This item will be on the next agenda for further
discussion.

e. Transportation Plan Update
Boyd Benson, Public Works Director and Larissa Grundell, Assistant City Engineer, gave a
presentation which reviewed some of the details of the Transportation Plan including existing
transportation services and facilities, project plans and the finance and implementation program. This
item will be on a future agenda for further review and discussion.
