CITY OF DUVALL CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MINUTES July 17, 2018 – 5:30 p.m. Riverview Educational Service Center – 15510 – 1st Ave NE Mayor Pro Tem Eyer called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. Council present: Matthew Eyer, Amy McHenry, Michelle Hogg, Jennifer Knaplund, Jason Walker, Mike Remington, Dianne Brudnicki Staff present: Matthew Morton, Lara Thomas, Lindsey Vaughn, Jodi Wycoff, Lieutenant Steve Sabourin, Officer Cory Clark, Officer Jason DeVoir, PJ Rodriguez I. Good of the Order Jodi Wycoff, City Clerk, introduced Chris Miller, Snoqualmie IT Department, to Council. Councilmember Hogg said that Sound Cities Association Public Issues Committee (PIC) will open nominations for subcommittees soon and reminded everyone that they prefer only one nominee from each agency for a specific committee. Councilmember Hogg also said that the next PIC meeting is August 1st to discuss cyber security. Councilmember McHenry asked Council for their input regarding fireworks. Council discussed the 2016 advisory vote and the proposed emergency ban ordinance. II. Items 1. Drug Education Presentation Lieutenant Steve Sabourin introduced Officers Cory Clark and Jason DeVoir. Officer Clark and DeVoir gave a presentation showing current drug trends in Duvall and the surrounding area including fentanyl, opiates and vaping. 2. Planning Department Update This presentation was moved to the regular Council agenda. 3. IT Department Update PJ Rodriguez, Snoqualmie IT Manager, gave a presentation to review accomplishments since 2015 and plans for the rest of 2018 and 2019/2020. III.
