CITY OF DUVALL CITY COUNCIL OPEN HOUSE MINUTES May 21, 2019 – 5:30 p.m. King County Fire District 45 Headquarters – 15600 – 1st Ave NE Mayor Pro Tem Remington called the Open House to order at 5:41 p.m. Council present: Michelle Hogg, Mike Remington, Amy McHenry, Jennifer Knaplund, Matthew Eyer (absent: Dianne Brudnicki) Staff present: Carey Hert, Jodi Wycoff, Diana Hart Community Engagement Open House re: Fireworks Emergency Ban Provision Ordinance In lieu of the regular Committee of the Whole agenda, City Council hosted an Open House regarding a Fireworks Emergency Ban Provision Ordinance. Mayor Pro Tem Remington introduced Mayor Ockerlander and present councilmembers. King County Fire District 45 Chief Burke and Police Chief Hert gave a brief presentation about the background, reasons for consideration of this ordinance and next steps, including a public hearing at tonight’s City Council meeting and a possible vote at the June 4th meeting. Chief Burke and Chief Hert answered questions from the audience. Mayor Pro Tem Remington announced that there will be another open house on June 4, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the Assembly Hall of the Riverview Educational Service Center which will be focused on a Transportation Benefit District sales tax ballot measure.
