CITY OF DUVALL CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MINUTES January 7, 2020 – 5:30 p.m. Riverview Educational Service Center 15510 – 1st Ave NE Mayor Pro Tem Remington called the meeting to order at 5:36 p.m. Council present: Michelle Hogg, Amy McHenry, Dorothy Lengyel, Dianne Brudnicki, Matthew Eyer, Mike Remington (attending via speakerphone: Jennifer Knaplund) Staff present: Lara Thomas, Steve Leniszewski, Jodi Wycoff, Dana Mason I. Good of the Order Mayor Pro Tem Remington moved the following agenda items: Information Technology update moved before the Exit Conference and Good of the Order items moved to after the Exit Conference. II. Items: 1. Department Updates Information Technology Department – Andrew Lathem, Snoqualmie IT Department, gave a presentation to review tasks completed and other IT-related events in 2019 and projects planned for 2020. 2. Exit Conference 2018 Audit Mayor Pro Tem Remington introduced Wendy Choy and Clay Trushinsky, from Washington State Auditor’s Office and Dana Mason, the City’s new Finance Director. Ms. Choy gave an overview of the type of audits conducted and the different types and levels of audit reports. Ms Choy explained that the documents they handed out are draft results of the 2018 audit and said that Heidi Wiley was the City’s audit lead. Mr. Trushinsky and Ms. Choy reviewed the draft accountability audit results and the management letter which addressed small and attractive assets and their related recommendations. Mr. Trushinsky reviewed the financial statement audit report and said that it was a clean audit. Ms. Choy reviewed exit items and explained that they are the lowest level of reporting. Lastly, Ms. Choy reviewed the required communications and answered questions from Council. 3. Department Updates Public Works Department – Steve Leniszewski, Public Works Director, reviewed options for Council to consider for the Depot Building deck and answered questions related to the deck project and other maintenance needs for the building. Due to time constraints, the remainder of the Public Works presentation will be on a future agenda. Committee of the Whole meeting 01/07/20 Approved 01/21/20 III.
