City Council Committee of the Whole

CITY OF DUVALL CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MINUTES January 19, 2021 – 5:30 p.m. Virtual Only Meeting via Zoom Due to public health emergency, this meeting was held remotely. All Councilmembers and staff attended via Zoom meeting. Mayor Pro Tem Remington called the meeting to order at 5:32 p.m. Council present: Amy McHenry, Dorothy Lengyel, Michelle Hogg, Mike Remington, Jennifer Knaplund, Dianne Brudnicki Staff present: Lara Thomas, Carey Hert, Steve Leniszewski, Jodi Wycoff I. Good of the Order Mayor Pro Tem Remington spoke about recent national events and encouraged everyone to be kind to each other even if they disagree with one another. Councilmember Knaplund requested an update on the Government Facilities Plan. Steve Leniszewski, Public Works Director, stated that the request for proposals is being developed and will be reviewed by the Public Works Committee. II. Items: 1. Council Priorities and Work Plan 2021 Mayor Pro Tem Remington reviewed the 2020 Council Work Plan and requested feedback to develop the 2021 Priorities and Work Plan. Council provided feedback including prioritizing a City Financial Planner, the Government Facilities Plan, the Parks Plan update, community outreach, traffic issues, recruiting for a City Administrator, discussing form of government, and financial policies and forecasting. This topic will be discussed during the January 29th Workshop. 2. 45th District Legislative Agenda Representative Roger Goodman, Representative Larry Springer, and Senator Manka Dhingra each gave a report on items they are working on at the State level and answered questions from Council. Mayor Ockerlander reviewed Duvall’s 2021 Legislative Agenda. 3. Interim City Administrator Mayor Ockerlander reviewed the draft Interim City Administrator task list and answered questions from Council. III.
