Page 2024-37 The City of Dyer Board of Mayor and Alderpersons met in regular session, Monday, May 13, 2024, at 7:03 PM. Those present were Mayor Chris Younger, Alderpersons Mike Needham, Tom Mikkelsen, Jennifer Hughey, Marty Graves, Bett Jewell, and Michael Barron. The City Attorney was present. Motion made by Jennifer Hughey, seconded by Marty Graves to approve the minutes of the April 22, 2024, regular meeting. Motion carried with all ayes. Mayor’s Report Mayor Younger encouraged everyone to attend the upcoming downtown movie on Saturday, May 18. The movie this month will be the new “Wonka” movie. Department Reports Street Supervisor Dale Carroll asked the board to approve hiring two summer workers. Motion made by Jennifer Hughey, seconded by Michael Barron to permit Mayor Younger and Carroll to select and hire two seasonal workers at $12.50 per hour with their employment ending on or before September 1, 2024. Motion carried with all ayes. New Business Motion made by Jennifer Hughey, seconded by Tom Mikkelsen to approve $3,250.00 to CrimeStar for Additional Officer License & Annual Support. Motion carried with all ayes. Motion made by Marty Graves, seconded by Tom Mikkelsen to approve $1,945.00 to Higdon Electric to Move Service Entrance at Industrial Park Pump Building. Motion carried with all ayes. Motion made by Marty Graves, seconded by Tom Mikkelsen to approve $2,125.00 to Needham Construction for Roof Labor at Industrial Park Pump Building. Motion carried with all ayes. Motion made by Tom Mikkelsen, seconded by Jennifer Hughey to approve $1,375.00 to City Lumber Company for Supplies for Roof at Industrial Park Pump Building. Motion carried with all ayes. Motion made by Michael Barron, seconded by Jennifer Hughey to authorize signing the NPP Gov Cooperative Purchasing Agreement. Motion carried with all ayes. Motion made by Jennifer Hughey, seconded by Marty Graves to approve $51,547.38 to Siddons-Martin Emergency Group / Arctic for Fire Department SCBA Fill Station under NPP Gov Cooperative Purchasing Contract PS20090 (100% Grant Funded - State Volunteer Firefighter Grant). Motion carried with all ayes. Motion made by Tom Mikkelsen, seconded by Jennifer Hughey to pay the accounts. Motion carried with all ayes.
