Also, materials can be provided in alternative formats for people with disabilities or with limited English proficiency (LEP) by contacting the ADA Coordinator (218)-773-2208 five (5) days prior to the meeting. #1  #2 RESOLUTION NO. 24 – 11 - 82 Council Member ______, supported by Council Member ________, introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: WHEREAS the Regular City Election and Special Election were held at the General Election on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, to vote on officers for the four (4) Council positions, the Mayor’s position, along with two questions considering the imposition of a local sales and use tax for the Recreation Facility Improvements for the Civic Center Sports Complex and the VFW Memorial Arena and the official returns of the judges of election were presented; and WHEREAS said returns were duly examined, approved and placed on file in the Office of the City Clerk; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of East Grand Forks has hereby found, determined and declared that the Regular City Election and Special Election held in and for the City of East Grand Forks on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 was in all respects duly held and the votes cast at said election were: MAYOR (4 year Term – 1 elected) Mayor Mark Olstad 3216 Write-Ins 79 COUNCIL (4 Year Term - 4 elected) Council Ward – At Large Brian Larson 3242 Write-Ins 28 Council Ward 1 Tami Schumacher 753 Paul Arens 204 Write-Ins 3 Council Ward 3 Timothy Riopelle 406 Write-Ins 11 Council Ward 5 Donald Casmey 697 Write-Ins 14 Results of City Question 1 for Civic Center Project Voted Yes 2324 Voted No 1614 Results of City Question 2 for VFW Memorial Arena Project Voted Yes 2282 Voted No 1612 IT IS HEREBY FOUND AND DECLARED that the following candidates for office of Council elected at the November 5, 2024 General Election for the respective terms to commence January 1, 2023 are as follows: Mayor 4 year term Mark Olstad Council 4 year term At Large Council Member Brian Larson  Council 4 year term Ward 1 Council Member Tami Schumacher Council 4 year term Ward 3 Council Member Timothy Riopelle Council 4 year term Ward 5 Council Member Donald Casmey 59.01% voters approved the imposition of sales and use tax for the Civic Center Project and 58.60% voters approved the imposition of sales and use tax the VFW Memorial Arena Project so the process will continue on the implementation of the local sales and use tax.
