East Grand Forks Campbell Library Board Meeting Minutes January 31, 2024 Present: Ryan Moe, Jen Dahlen, Renee Mabey, Marta Vanderpan, Renee Cardarelle and Charlotte Helgeson I. President Moe called the meeting to order. II. Nominations for President and Vice-President were opened. R. Mabey nominated Ryan Moe for President, second by J. Dahlen. M. Vanderpan nominated Renee Mabey with a second by J. Dahlen. Nominations were closed for a vote for President Moe and Vice- President Mabey. Unanimous vote. Discussion of a Friends representative was held. Possibly a Friends report rather than a Board rep attending a Friends meeting will be considered. III. A motion to accept the December 6, 2023 Meeting Minutes was made by R. Mabey with a second by R. Cardarelle. Unanimous vote. IV. A motion to approve final 2023 bills, January 2024, and February 2024 bills was made by J. Dahlen with a second by M. Vanderpan. Unanimous vote. V. Old Business A. Attendance at programs remained high during the ice storm and sub-zero weather in January. Examples are Grossology attendance was 92 and 50 children with their grownups came to a Music & Movement session. B. The Seed Library that starts Monday, February 5 has received positive feedback. The Board suggested, making sure the Food Shelf is informed and information was shared about the Community Garden rentals through Park & Rec. C. ACME Tools completed the rebuild of the pump for less than planned ($410.19 cost, $1000 estimated). Johnson Controls reinstalled it and replaced the tank on the water conditioner. The expansion cooler will be installed in the next couple of weeks to remedy humidity concerns. VI. New Business A. The Library received a NW MN Arts Council grant for $10,000 and a Friends grant from their Literacy Fund in the amount of $748.05. B. Charlotte attended the Council Vision Session and shared goals from 2024-2025. The Council had no questions about the goals. Priorities for the City were listed and reviewed for further work. The next meeting is set for Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at 8 a.m. at the Library.
