AGENDA VILLAGE OF EAST TROY BOARD OF REVIEW 2015 Energy Drive, East Troy, WI August 5, 2021 4:00 pm Board of Review 1. Call to order, roll call 2. Confirmation of the Meeting Notice Posting, Publication, and compliance with open meeting laws 3. Appointment of Chairperson 4. Approval of May 27, 2020, May 17, 2021, and June 23, 2021 Meeting Minutes 5. Confirmation that at least one member has received mandatory training during the last 2 years 6. Verify Village Ordinance for confidentiality of income and expense information provided to assessor under state law (sec. 70.47(7)(af) 7. Review of any new laws – maintenance year 8. Receipt of Assessment Roll by Clerk from Assessor and Board receives Assessment Roll and Statements from Clerk (certification – the assessor’s affidavit – assessor signs, the clerk acknowledges and provides to the board) 9. General information from Assessor – Annual Assessment Report 10. Review of Assessment Roll and Performance of Statutory Duties: a. Examine Roll and correct and description or calculation errors b. Add omitted property c. Eliminate Double Assessed Property 11. Discussion/Action – Certify all corrections of error under state law (sec. 70.43 Wis. Stats. 12. Verify with the assessor that open book changes are included in the assessment roll 13. Allow taxpayers to review assessment data 14. Consideration of: a. Waivers of required 48-hour notice, waiver of BOR hearing, request for testimony by telephone or submitting sworn statement, or other legally allowed/required Board of Review matters 15. Review Notices of Intent to File Objections -provide complete objections to board prior to hearing. If no stated value from the taxpayer do not grant a hearing. The clerk should work with the taxpayer to get the form completed. 16. Approval of Scheduled Appointments 17. Swearing in and hearing of assessment objections, if any and proper notice/waivers given 18. Discussion and Decision on the 2020 assessment roll 19.
