Survey results were discussed and reviewed. Ray Godden and Craig Friemoth from
Anderson Commercial Group were present and contributed to discussion regarding the
properties. Topics discussed included:
• Overall aesthetics of Main Street including the timing of county road
reconstruction, addition of sidewalks, and the desire to add curb and gutter
• The car wash that is for sale and what other uses would be suitable for a property
that size
• Kwik Trip will soon be open and the impact that could have on traffic counts
• Marathon gas station vacancy, sale, tanks, and what would be a good reuse of the
property.
• Mobile home park and the potential for a buffer including fencing or plantings in
the road right-of-way or along the railroad tracks. The maintenance and
ownership of the park was also discussed.
• What the US Packaging building is being utilized for and whether that property
should remain zoned as industrial.
• The potential for mixed use development in the area closer to the square.
• One of the survey respondents indicated they would be interested in selling.
Representatives from Anderson Commercial will reach out to the property owner
and potentially speak with others.
• Discussed the response regarding Church Street sidewalks from the railroad to the
square and the desire to pursue this as well as enhance the aesthetics.
