Notice of Public Informational Meeting for Proposed Dam Abandonment/Removal The Village of East Troy, c/o Jason Equitz, 2015 Energy Drive, East Troy, WI 53120 has applied to the Department of Natural Resources (Department) for a permit to abandon and remove the East Troy Dam on the Honey Creek. The project will involve the abandonment and removal of the dam including the water control structure and excavation of the embankment to create a stream channel that matches the upstream and downstream channel conditions. Site restoration including seeding and placement of erosion control blanket will also be completed. The project is located in the SW1/4 of the NW1/4 of Section 29, Township 04 North, Range 18 East, Village of East Troy, Walworth County. The Department will review the proposal provided by the applicant and any information from public comments and the public informational meeting. The Department will determine whether the proposal complies with ss. 1.11 and 31.185, 31.18, Stats., and ch. NR 150, Wis. Adm. Code, and ensure that the required mitigation meets the standards in s. 281.36(3r), Stats. if the project impacts wetlands. The Department has made a tentative determination that it will issue the permit or contract for the proposed activity.
