Call to order – President Budzien called the meeting to order at 6:33 pm followed by
the Pledge of Allegiance.
Approve Park & Recreation Commission minutes from May 14, 2018 &
June 11, 2018. The May 14 minutes from previous meeting were reviewed and a
motion to approve by Commissioner Jim Holm and Second by Commissioner Van
Buren. Motion carried. The June 11 minutes were reviewed and a motion to approve
by President Budzien and Second by Commissioner Van Buren. Motion carried.
Revenue/Expenditure Report – Nothing new to report. Motion by Commissioner Van
Buren to approve and Second by Commissioner Jim Holm. Motion carried.
Director’s Report – Muszynski received a $1,000 grant from White Tails Unlimited.
The plan is to purchase necessary archery equipment for classes.
Archery Range – We reviewed the notes from the June 25 Archery Open House
meeting. The date is set for September 8, 2018. An invitation was done by
Commissioner Van Buren and Muszynski. Vickie Muszynski will contact the
newspaper to see if an article/story can be done for the grand opening. We will ask
Jason Equitz to contact the county to see if a sign can be put up advertising the
location of the range.
New Signs – Pictures of the new signs for the village and parks were shared. They
will be a black metal and last longer than our current ones.
Dog Park – The Key Club has shown interest in fund raising for a dog park in the
Village. Muszynski has requested that members from the Key Club attend a future
Park & Rec meeting to do a presentation on what they would do for a fundraiser for a
project this size and possible location ideas.
Youth Baseball/Batting Cage – The batting cage put in by Youth Baseball is no
longer being used and has not been maintained. Youth Baseball has been notified
that it is being removed. It will stored at the Park and Rec garage for 30 days.
Splash Pad – Commissioner Holm inquired if we should explore the Splash Pad idea
once again. Discussion followed how nice it would be to have one (even if small) for
the young children to use at Playmore Park or other areas. The option of it turning
into an Ice skating pad in the winter was another idea to explore.
Adjourn – Motion by President Budzien to adjourn the meeting at 7:07 pm.
Second by Commissioner Holm. Motion approved.
Respectfully Submitted,
Debbie Arendt, Secretary
