Village of East Troy Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting Minutes – May 13, 2019 Call Meeting to Order; Pledge of Allegiance President Gary Budzien called the meeting to order at 6:32 pm. Present: President Gary Budzien, Director Vickie Muszynski, Trustee John Alexander, Commissioners Steve Rostkowski, Jim Holm, Annie Van Buren, Debbie Arendt Excused: Public Works Jason Equitz, Commissioner Geri Mayotte Consent Agenda (One motion and second will approve all of the following items) 1. Approve Park & Recreation Commission minutes – 4/8/2019 2. Revenue/Expenditure Report – 5/6/2019 3. Director’s Report Motion by Trustee Alexander, second by Commissioner Holm, to approve the Consent Agenda. Motion carried. Miscellaneous Business 1. Lake Bluff Walking Trails – Muszynski presented the revised walking path route. This path is not near any homes or paths currently. This will be a trial and paths could be mowed this summer. Motion by Trustee Alexander, second by Commissioner Van Buren, to approve the plan presented. Motion carried. 2. Skate Park – Hunter Rehfeldt (Middle school student) wrote a letter requesting a bowl for the skate park. The commission has no interest in pursuing this at this time due to the cost involved and the difficulty of adding this type of an item with the park already in use. 3. Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan – We are looking to update this plan. A copy of it will be emailed by Muszynski for the committee to review and put in suggestions of what you would like included in the survey. Muzynski asked the committee put in all recommendations by the end of May. Commissioner Rostkowski brought up his concerns of the future of East Troy Lake asking Trustee Alexander for the plan of the future. Rostkowski feels it is unsafe and unhealthly to keep it open. Trustee Alexander referred Rostkowski to the Village Board as this isn’t part of the Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan. Adjourn – Motion by President Budzien, second by Trustee Alexander, to adjourn the meeting at 7:30 pm.
