Village of East Troy Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting Minutes – July 13, 2020 Call Meeting to Order President Gary Budzien called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm. Pledge of Allegiance Present: President Gary Budzien, Director Vickie Muszynski, Trustee John Alexander, Commissioners, Jim Holm, Steve Rostkowski, Annie Van Buren, Geri Mayotte, Debbie Arendt Excused: Public Works Jason Equitz Consent Agenda (One motion and second will approve all of the following items) 1. Approve Park & Recreation Commission minutes – 6/8/2020 2. Revenue/Expenditure Report – 6/30/2020 A) Note: Director payroll/expense is lower as Vickie has been mowing for DPW due to Park & Rec classes not in session. 3. Director’s Report A) The only summer classes that will probably be happening this summer is Soccer, Karate, Zumba, Safe sitter and possibly Swimming. Motion by Trustee Alexander, second by Commissioner Van Buren, to approve the Consent Agenda. Motion carried. Miscellaneous Business 1. Bench donation – The Lioness club donated a free bench to the village. We had just purchased some benches. We will see if the Library could use the bench near/around the Library. 2. Lake Bluff Trails – We would like to consider expanding the walking path in the Lake Bluff Subdivision. We will table further discussion until Jason Equitz is present to get his location ideas. We feel we should have a sign advertising where the trails are located. 3. Mill Pond Pier – The pier at Mill Pond is in poor condition. The quote to replace this pier is approximately $30,000. There is continued concern on the vegetation management and what will be done with this area. We are still waiting for the decision from the DNR on the removal date of the Dam. Further discussion may be put on the agenda for Village Board Meeting to be held on July 27. 4. Budget Items – The committee is recommending that we add a Sign for the walking path at Lake Bluff Subdivision. In addition, Vickie will contact Lakeland Biologists to see a study can be done for the Mill Pond Area. 5. Fall Programming – Muszynski is asking for ideas how to move forward with Fall Classes. We are waiting on the reopening plan of the schools. We will not mail a flyer but offer classes on-line (as we did this summer). The committee will discuss again at the August meeting for any new ideas. Adjourn – Motion by President Budzien, second by Trustee Alexander, to adjourn the meeting at 7:20 pm. Motion carried.
