EAST TROY VILLAGE BOARD MINUTES September 10, 2018 Page 1 of 2 Call Meeting to Order; Pledge of Allegiance Deputy Clerk Alexander verified the meeting was posted according to law. Roll Call: Deputy Clerk Alexander called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Present: Trustees John Alexander, Alexander Alger, Alan Boyes, John J. Jacoby, Matt Johnson and Forty Renucci Absent: President Scott Seager Others: DPW Director Equitz, Deputy Clerk Alexander Motion by Trustee Alexander, second by Trustee Jacoby, to appoint Trustee Johnson as Chairman. Motion carried. Citizen Participation Richard Denhart, Global Glass, 2884 Main St., informed the Board that his business is trying to secure bids to bury a lateral from his business to the storm sewer extension that is on the agenda tonight. Miscellaneous Business 1. Consideration of awarding bid for Union Street storm sewer improvements DPW Equitz reviewed the history of the project of the Village investigating implementing these improvements to the storm sewer in this area. The project received two bids and the low bid was Wanasek Corp. This project was not included in the budget but DPW Equitz had identified about $30,000 available to use for this project. The additional funds would need to be from unassigned surplus funds. There were also engineering fees and it was questioned if those fees also needed to be considered. Richard Denhart, Global Glass, stated he is in the process of receiving plans and bids for work to improve the lot behind his building and is looking at several different options. The Global Glass project would be separate from the Village project but is interested in connecting to the storm sewer. Trustee Johnson confirmed that the Village project would go from Church St. west to the middle of the block. There would be 2 inlets that the property owners could tie into. The project would include paving an 8’ wide area of the street. The lateral would be the property owner’s responsibility and they could tie into the storm sewer extension. The bid included two completion dates and the pricing was the same regardless of the completion date of now or in spring 2019. This project could be done yet this year if approved. Motion by Trustee Johnson, second by Trustee Jacoby, to award the bid to Wanesek Corp. Trustee Johnson then amended the motion to include awarding up to $50,000 to Wanesak Corp. and $10,000 for Engineering services, if not previously approved, seconded by Trustee Jacoby. Amendment carried. EAST TROY VILLAGE BOARD MINUTES September 10, 2018 Page 2 of 2 Original motion carried.
