Appointments Committee Meeting In-person meeting at 50 Payson Ave., 2ndflr Small Conference Room Meeting Minutes: June 15, 2023 Councilor Riley called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm. Members Present: Chair Councilor Riley, Councilor Gómez Also in Attendance: Martha Leamy , Sean Abbott Approval of Minutes: none Public Speak Time: No members of the public present to speak. New Business: ● Name Board/Committee Term Expiration Sean Abbott BEES Committee Dec. 31, 2025 Sean is a software engineer , Sean is a easthampton resident Sean stated to the committee that he start planting native plants when covid start and doing that he saw how many pollinators start coming to his garden that create a passion on him about this issue and he want get more involved in our community .Sean is fascinated with the biodiversity we have and he want a help on any capacity on this important issue. Councilor Riley talked about the biodiversity of our city . Sean has been in contact with Councilor Zaret about this committee and that's why he app;ied to be on it . Motion By Councilor Riley Seconded by Councilor Gomez , motion pass 2-0 on favor James Haas Commission on Disability Dec. 31, 2023. Councilor Riley read the email that was part of the City council package from June 7th 2023 , James was not at the appointments meeting . Motion was made by councilor Riley seconded by councilor Gómez. voted was 2-0 on favor City Council Appointment: Name Position Term Expiration Martha Leamy Principal Assessor July 10, 2026 Martha Leamy talked to the committee about when she start working on the assessors field on 1999 , She talked about affordable housing and she talked about the importance of the seniors and veterans programs we have and the community should know about it .She is knows about the role of the board of the assessors and she want a work closely with the building inspector . Councilor Gomez stated that he was part of the interview process and he stated that Martha shows plenty of knowledge on the assessor's field , Councilor Gomez stated that other members of the city hall were part of that interview as well. Motion by Councilor Riley and seconded by Councilor Gomez , voted was 2-0 on favor Next regular meeting: TBD A motion to adjourned was made by Councilor Gomez and seconded by Councilor Riley unanimously voted that this meeting adjourn at 6:45 pm.
