City Council - Appointment Committee

Appointments Committee Meeting In-person meeting at 50 Payson Ave., 2nd floor Small Conference Room Meeting Minutes: September 14,2023 Councilor Riley called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm. Members Present: Chair Councilor Riley, Councilor Gomez , Councilor Meunier, Councilor Denham Also in Attendance: Chandler Frantz,Nancy Natale,Alexis Hosea-Abbott Approval of Minutes: none at this time Public Speak Time: No members of the public present to speak. New Business: ● Mayoral Appointment: Name Board/Committee Term Expiration .Chandler Frantz Easthampton Cultural Council 3 yrs. from appt. date Michael Sjostedt Easthampton Cultural Council 3 yrs. from appt. date Nancy Natale Easthampton Cultural Council 3 yrs. from appt. Date Councilor Riley told the committee that he communicated with Michael Sjosted and Councilor Riley explained to Michael about the role of the ECC in Easthampton , Councilor Riley stated that Michael has a shop in our community and that Michael is well connected with the art world and that he is really involved in our city. Nancy was at the meeting and she talked about her experience with the cultural council at Ashfield , Nancy has a degree in english ,she talked about her experience with art especially in places that she has been. Councilor Brad asked her about her experience writing grants and she responded that she hopes she can help as much as she can at the ECC about writing grants. Chandler Frantz was at the meeting and he stated to the committee that he has been in Easthampton since 9 years ago Chandler stated to the committee that he has experienced as an actor, Chandler is currently writing a book , he wants to be part of the ECC because he knows he can help the ECC at any level. Motion made by Councilor Meunier seconded by Councilor Gomez votes was 3-0 on favor of all 3 ECC appointments Alexis Hosea-Abbott Manhan Rail Trail Committee Dec. 31, 2024 This appointment is recommended by the city clerk Barbara LaBombard .Alexis was at the meeting and he already attend to a few Manhan rail trail committee meetings , He stated the one of the reasons he moved to Easthampton was the Manhan Rail trail ,He talked about the importance of the trail and how our community should be using it to ride their bike, walk and find ways to travel in our city and other towns. Motion made by Councilor Meunier seconded by Councilor Gomez votes was 3-0 on favor David Kutcher Easthampton City Arts Dec. 31, 2025 David is a member of the EDIC, he's the owner of two business in Easthampton , he served at the Northampton city arts for 4 years He wants to expand the walk city art in Easthampton. Motion made by Councilor Meunier seconded by Councilor Gomez votes was 3-0 on favor of this appointment Motion to adjourned made by Councilor Meunier seconded by Councilor Gomez votes was 3-0 unanimously voted that this meeting adjourn.
