City Council - Appointment Committee

Appointments Committee Meeting In-person meeting at 50 Payson Ave., 2nd floor Small Conference Room Meeting Minutes: December 4th, 2023 Councilor Riley called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm. Members Present: Chair Councilor Riley, Councilor Gomez ,Councilor Meunier, Councilor Denham Also in Attendance: Anita Loose-Brown,Genevive Goldleaf Approval of Minutes: August 31st 2023,September 14th 2023 and October 12th 2023 Motion by Councilor Meunier , seconded by Councilor Gomez voted 3-0 to approved the minutes Public Speak Time: none New Business: ● Mayoral Appointment: Name Board/Committee Term Expiration Genevieve Goldleaf BEES Committee 12/31/2025 Genevieve was at the meeting and talked to the committee about how important this committee is for our community ,Genevieve stated to the committee that she participated at the climate change forum at the city hall , she talked about climate change and the importance of taking actions to deal with this issue. Motion was made by councilor Meunier and seconded by councilor Gomez , voted was 3-0 on favor of the appointment Anita Loose-Brown Manhan Rail Trail Committee 12/31/2024 Anita was at the meeting and she stated to the committee that she is a retired teacher , thats she used to leave in Easthampton form 1980 to 1980 and she recently move back to Easthampton, She's stated that she is an outdoor person and she is impressed with how many people use the Manhan Rail Trail , she knows how to maintain this type of trails and she has some creative ideas to utilize the trail for community events. The City Clerk Barbara recommended this appointment Motion was made by councilor Meunier seconded by councilor Gomez . voted was 3-0 on favor Josh Rosenblatt Energy Advisory Committee 12/31/2025 Cassie Eckhof Energy Advisory Committee 12/31/2025 Councilor Riley tries to communicate with them but they do not respond. The committee recognized the importance of being a volunteer in our community and for that reason the committee decided to approve these two new appointments . Motion was made by councilor Meunier seconded by councilor Gomez . voted was 3-0 on favor Appointments from the city council President Greg Rolland CPA committee 12/31/2026 Councilor Gomez talked about his conversation with Greg and stated to the committee that he is reappointing Greg because the Greg expertise fit well on this committee , Councilor Gomez talked to the current chairperson of the cpa and the chairman of cpa recommended this reappointment due to the knowledge of Greg .
