City Council - Appointment Committee

Appointments Committee Meeting September 9th 2024 In-person meeting at 50 Payson Ave., 2nd floor Small Conference Room Councilor Smith called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm. At room #2 Meeting Minutes: No minutes to approved Public Speak Time: None Present: Acting Chair Smith, Councilor Gomez, Amelia Enright, Patricia Coon, Peter Follet. New Business: Patricia Coon Main Street Cemetery Committee Expiration term, Dec. 31, 2026 Patricia stated to the committee that she owned a family plot at the main cemetery, She’s applying to this committee because she believes everyone should be treated with dignity and respect. She is a Williston Academy graduate. Amelia Enright Main Street Cemetery Committee Dec. 31, 2026 Amelia stated to the committee that she wanted to help on this committee because she wanted to give back to the community. The motion was made by Councilor Gomez and seconded by Councilor Smith for Both appointments, the vote was 2-0 in favor of both appointments. Peter Follett Easthampton City Arts Dec. 31, 2025 Peter moved to Easthampton in 2008 where rapidly he got involved with the art community, Peter is already involved with projects in our city like the old town hall project and various other art events in the city, and he stated that he wants to be more involved because his daughter is in college now and he has more time to help the community with his time and expertise. The motion was made by Councilor Gomez and seconded by Councilor Smith, the vote was in favor 2-0 The committee also recommended the appointment of the following people; Bonnie McLoud Commission on Disability Dec. 31, 2025 James Johnson Veterans Council Dec. 31, 2025, The motion was made by Councilor Gomez and seconded by Councilor Smith The vote was 2-0 in favor of all the appointments.
