Members present Salem Derby (chair), Thomas Peake, Owen Zaret
Meeting called to order
The minutes from 3/10 were approved (motion Zaret, second Peake, 3-0)
There was no public speak
The committee reviewed three proposed amendments to section 10.10.4.2 regarding cannabis
establishments in Highway Business district.
The councilors were in favor of option 1 which strikes the term “Highway Business” in regards to
requiring existing buildings to be present.
The existing language around square footage of retail space in Highway business was reviewed.
The committee agreed to move forward with a recomendation for option 1 and to set a joint public
hearing with the planning board.
The agenda item requesting a 75 foot setback for cannabis establishments abutting residential lots was
continued. The committee agreed this required more background material, and preferably presentation by
the submitting councilor, councilor Kwiecinski.
The plastics ordinance was reviewed, and needs to be reviewed with the health agent
